Queen City Graphic Design Kevin Elliott 350$ worth of t shirts ruined!!! New Richmond Ohio
We hired Kevin Elliott to do 35 shirts we provided him with our logo. The logos are printed sideways and off center. When contacting him 5 mins after he dropped them off, there was a issue, he wanted me to identify all his mistakes and let him know. Isn't this something you do as a business owner, prior to delivering the customers product to them incorrectly?? After giving him a week to get back to us, we asked for a refund. He then became hostile and very aggressive in his demeanor. Kevin refuses to stand behind his work or to pay us the 350$ we paid to him to print the shirts. He said he would meet on Friday, but failed to contact as he promised!! Purposely neglecting to stand behind his business!! We placed a total of 3 orders, which there were mistakes on every order. He took 2 shirts for repair and refuses to return them corrected as well from the first 2 orders. Is all we hope is that others don't run into this kind of amateur business conducted by Kevin at Queen City Graphic Design!! APPROACH WITH CAUTION, and get a signed agreement before hiring. Kevin doesn't have quality customer service as the top of his priority.

Al Collins Graphic Design AL Collins Rips students off! Internet
I was told at first that with the Associates Degree (when I attended the Associates Degree is all they offered) and dedicated job placement personnel would find me a suitable job. By the time I got my degree, they told me that Al Collins NOW offers full bachelors degree's. They told me to enroll for another 2 years and possibly $15, 000 in student loans! They went on to tell me that if I am serious about my education that I should enroll, you don't want to get left behind I recall them saying. I told them that I could not afford another loan and that was the last time I heard from them. There job placement called me only once. Since then, my original loan for $6,500 has grown to 14,050! Now this recession, I can no longer afford to make the payment. Please add me to the class action law suite. Sincerely,

Al Collins Graphic Design - court case
I noted a report filed against this school, and then happened to file this court case judgement against them on the internet at the following link. http://www.ed-oha.org/cases/1996-62-sp.html Below is a plain text version of the decision.... UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20202 _________________________________________ In the Matter of Docket No. 96-62-SP AL COLLINS GRAPHIC DESIGN SCHOOL, Student Financial Assistance Proceeding Respondent. __________________________________________ PRCN: 199510900006 Appearances: Ralph H. Vieau, President, Al Collins Graphic Design School, Tempe, Arizona, for Respondent. S. Dawn Scaniffe, Esq., Office of the General Counsel, United States Department of Education, Washington, D.C., for Student Financial Assistance Programs. Before: Frank K. Krueger, Jr., Administrative Judge. DECISION The Respondent appealed Finding # 8 of the Final Program Review Determination (FPRD) issued by the Student Financial Assistance Programs (SFAP), U.S. Department of Education (ED), on March 27, 1996. The finding concerns the alleged failure of the Respondent to collect the necessary documentation to verify that Student # 6 was registered with the Selective Service System. SFAP contends that Respondent must return to ED $1,200.00 in Pell Grant funds disbursed to this student. For the reasons provided below, I agree with SFAP. Discussion and Findings Respondent makes no effort to contest the facts as put forth in the FPRD. Student # 6 was required by Federal law to register with the Selective Service System. Student # 6 began his program of study at the Al Collins Graphic Design School on June 8, 1992. On June 20, 1992, Respondent received an Electronic Student Aid Report indicating that the Selective Service System was unable to verify that Student # 6 was registered with the Selective Service System. On August 3, 1992, Student # 6 withdrew from the institution. Sometime in August 1992, Student # 6 signed a statement in the Electronic Student Aid Report certifying that he was registered with the Selective Service System.See footnote 11 Again, sometime between June 8, 1992, when Student # 6 began his program of study, and August 3, 1992, when he withdrew, Respondent awarded $1,200.00 in Pell funds to Student # 6.See footnote 22 Under 34 C.F.R. 668.7(a)(8) (1992), a student is not eligible to receive student financial assistance under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, unless the student has filed a Statement of Selective Service Registration Status in accordance with 34 C.F.R. 668.33 (1992). Under 668.33 (a)(1), a participating institution may not disburse Title IV funds to any student until such a Statement is filed. The Statement shall certify either that the student is registered with the Selective Service System or that, for a specified reason, the student is not required to register. An institution may waive the requirement that a student file a Statement of Selective Service Registration Status if the institution determines, based on clear and unambiguous evidence, that the student is not required to register. Id. at 668.33(b). However, any waiver is at the institution's peril since it may be liable for any funds disbursed if it is ultimately determined that its waiver was not reasonable in light of all available information. Id. at 668.33(f). Similarly, an institution may disburse assistance to a student who has submitted the required Registration Statement from a student who is required to register with the Selective Service System, but who has not registered, if the institution had information which conflicts with the student's Statement, and acceptance of the Statement was not reasonable in light of all available information. Id. at 66.33(g). In the case at hand, Respondent may have disbursed the Pell Grant funds before it received Student # 6's Registration Statement, which would be a clear violation of 34 C.F.R. 668.7(a)(8) and 668.33(a)(1). However, since it is unclear as to when the Pell Funds were actually distributed, and it is unclear as to the exact day in August when Student #6 signed the Registration Statement on the Electronic Student Aid Report, there is the possibility that the Pell funds where distributed after Respondent's receipt of the Statement and before the student withdrew from the institution on August 3, 1992 -- i.e. August 2, 1992. Notwithstanding this possibility, Respondent would still be in violation of 34 C.F.R. 668.33 since, as noted above, 668.33(g) provides that an institution is liable for any Title IV aid awarded to a student who has submitted a Registration Statement indicating that the student was registered with the Selective Service when the student was not registered and acceptance of the student's Statement was not reasonable in light of the conflicting information in the institution's possession. Although the Respondent acknowledged that the Selective Service could not confirm the student's registration, its defense is that data match problems were not unusual during 1992- 93, and reliance on the student's certification was reasonable. Respondent makes no effort to discuss or define the so-called data match problems which are cryptically mentioned in its submission or otherwise offer any evidence in support of its position. In light of the evidence in the record, I find that Respondent's Pell Grant award to Student #6 was unreasonable and in violation of 34 C.F.R. 66.33 (1992). Order ORDERED, that Respondent pay ED $1,200.00. July 29, 1996 _____________________________ Frank K. Krueger, Jr. Administrative Judge _________________ S E R V I C E __________________ A copy of the attached initial decision was sent to the following by registered mail, return receipt requested: Ralph H. Vieau, President Al Collins Graphic Design School 1140 South Priest Drive Tempe, AZ 85281 S. Dawn Scaniffe, Esq. Office of the General Counsel U.S. Department of Education 600 Independence Ave., S.W. Washington, D.C. 20202 Footnote: 1 1 The day of Student # 6's signature is unclear (it could be August 2, 3, 21, or 31), but the month and year are clear. See ED Exhibit 2-1. Footnote: 2 2 As with the date of the signature on the Electronic Student Aid Report, the record does not reveal the precise date that the Pell funds at issue were disbursed.

Al Collins Graphic Design School Collins College Ya you don't have to be an artist...heard that in the early 90's Tempe, Arizona
Would like to join class action law suit, if it ever happens. I attended Al Collins Graphic Design School in the late 80 and early 90's. What a joke. I certianly needed to be an artist to graduate, which I did not. They even started grading portfolios with bronze silver and gold seals of approval. Nice going for an interview...well I only received a bronze from Collins Collegs. What a joke. We never received a computer or anything that wasn't out dated. Only in computer lab did we use a computer. The rest was learning how to draw letter and develope blake and white film, not much that could be used. I keept most of my ols stiff so if we ever get this rolling. I also had my initian student loan of $10,000 go up to $28,000 since I couldn't find a job to pay it back. Contact me to join this lawsuit.

howromanek Graphic Design Stuart Romanek Never Finished Graphic Design Work After Being Paid; Used Copyrighted Images Not Owned On Site Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Stuart Romanek was contacted as a referral to create a website for our company; what a mistake that was! Not only did he over charge us but he never finished the website and asked for additional funds to correct spelling and grammar errors on his part. Also, Stuart claimed to have used original graphics in our site that we would sell us at a nominal fee. We later found out that these graphics and images were owned by others and this resulted in numerous issues. Further, when he was contacted normal business hours he would not answer his phone and stated via email that he was at his full time job and would only communicate via email. When our company had enough with his antics, Stuart responded in a very childish manor by pulling down the site we paid for and placing slanderous remarks on the site. Legal actions have taken place and will continue until all matters are finished. This is a warning to anyone who might want to use Stuart for any website or design work. If you use google and look past the third or forth page, you will find that others have had similar issues.

Al Collins Graphic Design School Collins College - Liberty Cotton Center,Al-Collins-Graphic-Design-School-Collins-College-CEC-Corpor Al Collins Graphic Design School, Al Collins Art School, Collins College and whatever else name they went by has been corrupt for years! Phoenix, orignially Tempe Arizona
Al Collins Graphic Design School did not teach me anything I did not know before becoming a student. They made it clear that they were about the checks that was coming in off my GI Bill. Fortunatly the Army put a stop to it suddenly when they noticed that Al Collins was not an acredited school with paperwork that went by the strict military guidelines. However having alCollins on my resume for over 20 years inadvertantly caused me to loose jobs without knowing it as I was later told by a head hunter and consulting friend. I wish to join this class action suit to give my two cents. As I now take a look at the website I find this not all too surprising notice on their website...Collins College is no longer accepting new student applications, but you can still pursue your passion for design and technology at institutions that are fellow members of the Career Education Corporation network of schools: International Academy of Design & Technology (IADT); Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA; or Harrington College of Design in Chicago, IL.IADT operates eight ground campuses across the country and also offers programs delivered 100% online via IADT-Online. dyngo design dyngotech@gmail.com lazy graphic designer poor job delivery Internet
A very bad designer who has little interest in customers. Paid up front which was the first mistake. As soon as I paid the entusiasm for work vanished. He went offline for days, complaing he was 'tired' or had to eat something. Finally delivered a logo made from cut and past stock vectors 2 days later when promising 1 hour turnaround, even when I made it clear the printers were on standby. Held up the project, had to provide him with a vector graphic I paid for, which he simply cut and pasted, then got the words wrong onnthe graphic and told me to pay someone else to sort it out and he would knock it off the bill. Getting the words changed cost the same as his services! Then the second half of the project was a disaster. Had to wait 5 days trying to get him online, hours and hours wasted that could have been for the project. Eventually he just said he didnt have time- set our project back a week and this is an important medical project. But he doesnt care as long as he can go and sleep and eat......   to sum up talentless, lazy and unreliable. Hire at your peril.

graphic fusion design nathan puente untrustworthy...never paid employees phoenix, Arizona
Nathan came out to North Carolina last year to start a new business.  He immediately hired me.  After a few weeks, he disappeared back to Arizona and never paid us for our work.  He is a spoiled, pretty little B*@%h with a sense of entitlement, who makes his living off the backs of the poor.  I wouldn't do business with any company affiliated with people like him.  Graphic fusion design will rip you off just like Nathan ripped me off. Looking at their site with his picture all over it makes me sick to my stomach... Like they're proud to be with someone like him.  No ethics! Be smarter than I was!!!  Seriously, this guy rented a huge house to give the impression that he was someone...  you should see the place he lives in in Arizona... i Google Earthed his address.  Like he can't afford to pay me a measly $1,000 that he knows I'm owed.  If he would do this to a poor man like myself, imagine what he would do to you!!!  Watch out for Graphic Fusion.

Al COllins Graphic Design School Collins College PLEASE HELP ME BEGIN A LAWSUIT FRAUD FRAUD Tempe , Arizona
I attended this school in 1995. I went in hopeful, motivated and naive. I was a single mother trying to gain an education and begin a career. At the age of 23 I signed a loan contract in the amount of 16,000. Pell Grants were about 6,000. Im not sure that I made it half way through, partially do to having to work and school and kids and partially because the whole thing was a joke. How the Dept of Educ can back this trade school, is beyond me. Thousands of students, thousands of dollars in debt and the school is very hesitant in giving up copies of files. Some files I have received have amounts scratched out and different amounts written over the top of them. From what I can make out, loan money was requested when I wasnt enrolled and pell grant money was rarely applied when I was attending. I have all but given up trying to straighten this out, because ultimately I signed the loan agreement with the school and the US Dept of Education. I worked hard to get the grades I got, even when I noticed there were several who would brag about their A's but were rarely seen in class or on campus. One instructor failed an entire class, aside form 2 students. It was a typography class. How does one actually fail a typography class. I am appalled at this school, the banks that work with them and the Dept of Education-they all have to know the success rate of the students, and the amount of students who drop out, and the amount that end up defaulting on huge loans. This is horrible and unfair and nothing has been done so it continues on at our expense. For the last ????? years I have been scrambling to fix a disaster their Fin Aid Dept has caused. At this point, the loan is at 56,000 for a 6,000 loan agreement. If you or someone you know was screwed by this school, contact me--as one or two people we may not make a dent in this but if we had a group of people stand up against this fraudulent and misleading school, maybe then someone will listen. 3 on your side-where are you???

Collins College - Al Collins Graphic Design School hussled Internet
Wow I stumbled on this report by complete acident, but can relate in so many ways. Never in my life have I ever felt so ripped off in my life. It was a few weeks before i graduated high school when I seen an infomercial on t.v. about this so called state of the art design school. Now where I live theres not much opprotunity for art schools, so instantly I was hooked. Jotted the number down and called to request more information. Within a day or so i was contacted by the school. This is where it gets good, the representative from the school starts to talk and he is good, he promises me the world. Spells out the whole plan the school can help me get a job while i go to work, they help you get housing, they provide transportation to school, you name the question he had the answer. Even sent me a paper telling me a few things I would need when i got here for housing. Then the question of finacial aid came up. Now as a teen I knew there was no way i could talk my parents to pay for this. I wasnt stupid I came from a low income family. I was told how to get around my parents paying for it, how to apply for the loans i needed. OK so papers are signed. I get aceptance letter from the school, and in a few short weeks I will jump on a plane and start this new stage of education. I arrive at the airport and the rep is waiting there for me. takes me to a appartment complex where i have to come up with deposit and first months rent for a two bedroom appartment along with 3 other new students whom will shortly arrive. This is so NOT funny i gave them 1000 dollars as well as the other 3 students so do the math 4000 dollars to rent a two bedroom appartment with 3 complete strangers. That asside as he left i realized I had asked if i needed transportation he said no yet the closest store was over a couple miles away, the school was a good distance from the complex, and very long distance from any job opprotunity for a student fresh outta high school. So all that aside a week later I start classes. Thats when the fun starts after a few weeks classes change, teachers change, new expenses show up like diffrent books, special markers, pencils, zip drives ext. Nothing was as told by the rep. No transportation to school, most kids had to take a taxi, car pool if you was lucky enough to know someone with a car, or bike the 5 miles to the school witch i had to do. Job assistance consisted of a peg board with adds from local businesses looking to hire. Within a year I got time off went home for christmas. I came back to 2 roomates dropping out witch left the appartment rent short, then i was told it was my resposibility to find new roommates. Not to mention one of them took all my belongings including wash cloths, blankets, and socks. I had so many miss leading talks with my rep, yet the school still got there money. And to this day i am still paying for loans that I had to take out. I just wanted the opprotunity to warn all young folks to beware of this school, they only want your money and care nothing about your education... If I could get my money back it would be awesome, yet this experiance taught me so much about the way some places can hussle you with quick talk, and once you sign those finacial papers your stuck no matter what you take away from the program.

AL COLLINS GRAPHIC DESIGN SCHOOL STUDENT AIDES GRADING FINALS TEMPE, Arizona
I attended Al Collins graphic design school in the early 90's. I quickly learned of this school being a ripoff when a teacher there had the student aide in that class grade final projects. I reported it to the upper management of that school and nothing was done about it so I quit and wrote the department of education about what I experienced. I want to join a class action suit against them. I am not going to pay back the loan.

Al Collins Graphic Design School Collins College Rip off Tempe Arizona
I moved out to Arizona to attend Al Collins Graphic Design School in the summer of 2000. I wanted to take webpage design about a year into classes I was denied the ability to go into webpage design. By that time I had had enough of this place the people I had started school with were dropping out left and right. I told the admisistration that I was going to drop out then if I suddenly was unable to take the courses I had sighed up for. They changed their minds real quick when they realized they were going to have to return the rest of my tuition money. I suspect that they never did since I have so much student loan debt from this joke of a school. The majority of my credits were non transferable to other schools so more student loan debt ontop of that. I hope this place gets what is coming to them.

Al Collins Graphic Design School Collins college, Attacked then Ripped off a Young Student using un-ethical means. tempe Arizona
Al Collins Graphic Design in Tempe, AZ in 98 destoryed the lives of many students. They accomplished this by the housing department. The rent will off set the tutition and then force the student to forego classes in order not to lose a place to live. I was fooled and robbed. I was forced to quit school, because they accidently mis-placed my rent payment (not once but more). I understand now that they no longer have the housing company for fraudulant findings. I was not only forced to quit school but I was charged an additional semester worth of classes and then prevented  to pay off what I owed. Collins College screwed me so bad that currently today, I am still paying for the tuition. 19,000.00. How is that right? Beware of this school it will drain every dollar from your life. The instructors that were good with integrity and character quit. This school needs to pay back the students it screwed from 98 to 2000. I hope justice against this school finally happens. Robbed my future financiallyand educationally.

Al Collins Graphic Design School Collins College Ripoff, Money Front Tempe Arizona
It has been so long now, i cannot quote to you the exact year I had attended Al Collins Graphic Design.  I can say that I was there before the name changed to Collins College, and before they had a computer graphics department, which was under construction at the time.I was under age to receive a loan on my own, so I had to have a co-signer, my father.  I also had to send $200.00 and a portfolio of my art and skills before being accepted to this school.  That, at the time, seemed to me to feel like a good school.  The idea that they were scanning through applicants, to see who was actually skilled in art, and who were not.  $200.00 fee ment they had a large number of applicants, and wanted to weed out the more serious ones from the less skilled.  My father and mother had just divorced, and that left my father in some serious debt, let alone, his credit was shot.  As I talked to a recruiter, he had told me that they had a program that IF my fathers credit score did not pass their requirements, that i was still eligable for some sort of loan, and that I was still on track to attending their school.  I sold my car, packed my bags, and Am Tracked it to Arizona from North Carolina.  Now, When I and the recruiter were talking, I had said, I am already skilled in art, drawing, painting, ect.  There is not much you can teach me there, however I would like to learn to put my art on computers.  Be it Video Games, or Animation.  He said they had a graphics arts department, and that would be right up my alley.  I was out of state, and was placed in some appartment complex, with 3 other roomates.  I was lucky, I guess, from some of the reports I have read on here.  We all got along great, and were some of the best friends I had at the time.  However, 2 of them were into some real heavy drugs.  Not something I would have wanted in my HOUSE.  But enough of that.  I had started my classes, and within 2 months i had began to realize a ton of things were very wrong.ONE:  Remember that $200.00 review fee for a art portfolio?  I looked around my classroom, and to my amazement, only ONE kid in all my classes could actually draw.  He was doing Comic Book art.  Every other student could have been out drawn by a kindergardener.  And I am not exagerating.  AWFUL.  Completely disgusting artists. TWO: The classes I was attending were things like Lettering, Coloring, Advertising  Nothing at all to do with graphic art.  In fact, the coloring class, I had been asked to teach MY techniques for a week.  I had some of my art on the table, and the teacher, (great guy, BTW) saw them and said they looked as though I had colored them on a computer, photoshopped or something.  When I told him that it was only color pencil, he said Will you like to show us how next week?  I was excited, sure.  Always loved teaching, however, here I am paying them money for me to teach them how to color.  That's when my bells and whistles went off.THREE: As I am sitting with my buddies at lunch, outside, I was looking over at a building that was under construction.  Plastic, scafolding ect.  I had asked What's that going to be?  Someone responded, Oh, that's the graphics arts building. Wait, you mean thats an extention for it?No, that IS the building.  The courses are not here yet.Well what the hell am I taking?I looked over my degree, and lo and behold, it was some crap degree in advertising.  Let me warn you, I hate advertising.  I hate those who advertise, I hate the entire industry.  There was no way I would work for a degree in that dispicable field if I was paid to take the classes.  The lump sum of my degree would have come out at $45K, not including intrest. I marched up to me recruiter, and asked him what the hell was going on?  I thought I was here for graphic arts, and here I find the building is not even finished.  So I am in some advertising degree.  This degree would set me in some feild like magazine covers, CD covers, and so on.  I told him to go to hell, and packed up, and headed home.  I withdrew, broke my lease, screwed my roomates in the lease, and rent, and went home with a scar of $4,000.00 in loans.  Now, keep in mind, my father was paying these loans, not me.  I am not eligable for a loan. Months later my father had to file for bankruptcy, and upon that moment, I was of age, 21, and the loan sharks came after me.  My father already wanted to sue the recruiter for lieing, let alone, break his legs for sending him so far into debt, and lying. Years later, and as I grew up, I wanted to go back to school, a real school, and get a real job.  Dream Job, in robotics, or areospace.  Again, Lo and Behold, I find I am in default.  Default to a scam of a fraudulent school.  I had talked to all my roomates for years after that horrid school, and they all dropped out, because the degrees they were going for were crap degrees.  LET it be known, we were all bright students, and were the head of our classes.  All but one guy, but he had a good heart.  We did not leave because we could not hack it.  I joined the service after that crap.  I was top of my division in boot, top of my class in A, B, and Sea/C Schools, and was the fastest to gain rank in Pearl Harbor Hawaii in 15 years.  from E2 to E6 within 4 years.  I served on a submarine.  I LOVE school.  I love learning.  I watch only Discovery, History, and other channels of the sorts.  I spend hours opn youtube learning stuff from air brushing to streatching canvas.  I cannot stop learning junk. This School, Al Collins, has to be sued, even though they are closed now.  Someone has to pay for the number of lives they have ruined.  Although I was only 4K in debt, the intrest over the years has sent my credit to BAD, and is now defaulted.  They have tried to garnish my wages, but I have avoided them every step of the way.  I do not owe anyone anything for a all out money scam. I have read on WIKI that Collins College has been investigated in their loan department.  That alone should tell everyone that something went wrong here.  If there was a case against them, I have not found it.  If it is still pending, please count me in.  If it has already been pressed, what can I do right now? I went under a program with the governments Education Dep.  and paid $50 per month for 6 months consecutive, and am still in default.  I want my life back.  I want A life.  I want a real job.  In this day and age there is NO room for such scams.  I need help.

Al Collins Graphic Design Art School ..THEY ARE DEFINITELY NOT WHAT & WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE!
Just another comment on Al Collins and how they have treated my son who graduated from them. Wish we found the Rip-off Report before! My son moved back to the State of Washington after graduation. Placement at Al Collins consisted of mailing him a list of possible employers for which he needed to take the initiative to apply (most of them completely out of his area - others with no graphic design requirements). A couple of cheerful phone calls from placement personnel with promises to check back and see how he'd done on interviews never materialized. Sure they cared!!(?) He is presently working in graphic design, but it is definitely not any result of Al Collins placement efforts. I believe I could provide better results from my home computer than what he got from their official placement office for him and any other student. As far as we know they didn't even send one letter on his behalf. As a result of their student housing, even though he paid all his rent promptly - he was erroneously sent to a credit agency and now he cannot get credit anywhere. We have the letter from RnR Real Estate Marketing (their agent) telling Bonded Collections of Tempe it was their error, but Bonded Collections never removed their incorrect notation and our son's credit is now damaged. I urge you to think twice about getting involved with this school and its student housing. I will be the first to retract this letter if they suddenly work to get my son's rental problems properly corrected. Chances are, however, they will ignore it, like everything else after the student's graduation. Famousmom@AOL.com We see there are several other articles on Al Collins on the Rip-off Report at the web address below is one of them. http://www.autoripoffreport.com/view.asp?id=304

Al Collins Graphic Design School president Ralph Vieau - student rip-off ..job placement BS - history victimizing others on rip-off report
I graduated with honors from the Al Collins Graphic Design in October of 1990. BEFORE graduation I spoke to Melissa Simonson of job placement about relocating here to Sebring, Florida. I asked her about art related jobs in this area and what I should do myself before deciding to relocate. Ms. Simonson promised me that she would look into Sebring, and a week later assured me that I would have no problems working in my field here. The school NOW admits that this is a small community where art related jobs are very scarce. The school's justification for Ms. Simonson's negligence is a claim that they made 103 phone calls in my favor from 1991 - 1994. Besides the fact that these calls were made AFTER I moved here and the damage was already done, most of these calls were made to companies unheard of in this area. I was promised lifetime placement assistance when I enrolled, but the school has turned it's back on me since 1994. ACGDS and president Ralph Vieau will not return my calls or answer my letters these days. I have always been patient and courteous. Mr. Vieau had an attorney send me a letter accusing me of putting little effort myself into finding employment. I put a lot of time, hard work, and money into my degree. Why would I throw that away? I have even offered to do volunteer work for experience. I have copies of letters from respected business people that testify to my great determination. These facts are overlooked by the school and the accreditors they boast so highly about. Mr Vieau's attorney belittles me because I work at a grocery store for little more than minimum wage and can not afford to relocate again. Mr Vieau rudely and unprofessionally ignores my calls so I am accused of harassment and my phone service is threatened. (Phone company record will prove that I am not committing tele-abuse as the lawyer insinuates.) I feel like a criminal because I asked the school for help and wanted to be treated fairly. Computer programs have drastically changed and now my degree is obsolete. I am trying to pay off a $26,000 student loan for an education I can not use. ACGDS blames me. I only hope that no one else works full time at a convenient store to put themselves to school only to have all the work, time and money wasted. JeannaGray@webtv.net Jeanna Gray Florida e-Ie 8-29

Al Collins Graphic Design School Its the school of ripoff and scam artists!! Tempe Arizona
I went to Al Collins about 10 years ago. I was fresh out of high school and looking for a college to attend. I came across Al Collins and immediately started looking into it. I made an appointment to speak to some woman about the school, what kind of technology and kind of degree offered. I decided to enroll two days later, after all they had told me my degree would transfer to any school I decided to go to, to continue my education. What a deal...FOR THEM! Months later and $13,000 in debt, classmates started chatting and I had learned that the degree was bogus! I called Arizona State and spoke to a teacher from the art department. He was nice enough to say that I was wasting my time and that in fact students from Al Collins were a red flag to companies. I filed a complaint and went through the grievance procedure. I finally had my day to speak in front of the board that over sees trade schools. Unfortunately, Al Collins sent in their layers who spoke beyond my years and I was left red faced and speechless. It came down to he said- she said. Maybe if I had brought a layer I would have been taken a little more seriously. Anyway my blood still boils when I see or hear about the school, which by the way I believe they changed their name after Collins retired or quit. Lisa Fallbrook, California

Al Collins School of Graphic Design rip-off! Poor instruction for way too much money. Tempe Apache Junction Arizona
I attended Al Collins 1991 - 1992 enrolling in their desktop publishing program. I went through a different teacher several times per week. When I complained about this, the president of the school tried to appease me by letting me attend any class I wanted at no additional cost. I wanted to have a group meeting with the President but he said no. I was appointed the spoke person. When I layed out my complaints he denied every one. All my complaints are the same as what is in the report on Rip-Off. I can see it has not changed any still the year I attended. I have not been able to land a graphic job and I more or less had to teach myself what I know now. The tuition was far far too too much for the little training I received. I would like to go back to school but I feel it would be a waste of my time to become faustrated with the very same situation I left. Barbara Apache Junction, ArizonaU.S.A.

Yesi Yesi Graphic Design AKA Yesi Yesi Design Graphic Designer Ran Off With My Money, Waited till After 30 Day Refund Date to Screw Me Over Los Angeles California
It's been 5 months since I purchased a new website design from a designer off of Etsy called Yesi Yesi. I've gone back and forth for months with her sometimes taking a month to reply to my emails. She created several inital designs in a PDF form that were not at all in line with what I described, at times ripping off other peoples site designs. On top of that, she would take weeks to alter even the smallest thing. After reviewing the contract that I signed with her it lists the typical wait time for a project such as mine as 1-2 weeks. I tried contacting her twice to ask about when the website would be finished with no response. So finally I sent her a letter asking for my money back for services not rendered and once again there was no response. I let her know that I do plan to go forward with an investigation with PayPal and Etsy, Visa and basically any other group that I can find and once again there was no response. I've reviewed this sellers Etsy account and I believe she is running a scam. The majority of the items she sells are inexpensive pre-made graphic designs, which is how she has kept a fairly high (94%) positive rating on Etsy. The other items she sells are website designs etc. The website designs are almost entirely negative in feedback with several sellers saying that the product they paid for was never provided. Both Etsy and PayPal have a limited time frame in which you can get a refund. I believe Yesi and Reed (her assistant designer) took as long as they did to respond and produce simple changes because they were trying to get out of the 45 day time frame when you can get a refund and review publicly. I have records of all of my emails with Yesi and Reed and plan to take screenshots of our convo's and the ripped off designs she stole from other people's websites. I'm not sure if I will ever get my money back but at the very least I want everyone to know what happened.

Al Collins Graphic Design School Collins College Poor quality instruction, false statements made as to what you can earn as graphic design artist Tempe Arizona
I attended Al Collins Graphic Design School from 1987 to 1988. The instructors were mediocre. They just gave a very basic idea of what the class was about, just brushed over the subjects quickly then, you were moved on. You did not recieve the complete truth of what is expected in the real world of graphic design. I got all A's in this school and recieved an AA Degree, but, that didn't help me find a good paying job or freelance work. When I'd go on interviews, the interviewers would laugh when I told them I graduated from this school. When I did get a job it only paid $5 to maybe if i was lucky $10 per hour. That school told me I'd recieve much much more than what I really would be making. I had a good looking portfolio and presented myself as professionally as I could. I am so disgusted with this school. To date, I still am not able to pay off this loan, and I have had to put the loan on deferment many times. Instead, I found data entry work with various companies, eventually geting a job within a bank. Last year, I was forced to retire because my job was eliminated at this bank. Now, I am left with a $28,000 Al Collins Graphic Design School student loan from 1987 that, I still cannot pay off! Someone please help!! Sinerely, Very Sorry I attened this school
