Stamps .com - USPS Neverending nightmare the government supports Internet
As a woman who has survived a facially and physically debilitating cancer, postal lines became increasingly difficult, i noticed in Postal blue with the Eagle outline on the counter in a rack a disk for stamps.com. I picked it up took it home and loaded it. I could do all my three letters a month from home and print my stamps, no more lines.  Since I am without transportation, no more hunting a neighbor to take me to buy the few stamps i needed,  I read trems and conditions, nothing about service charges, just the costs of stamps the need for a stamps . com scale that hooked into my computer. A credit or debit card registered so I could buy my home printable stamps. When it got to company name we put in brown bhob's basket, a family joke, bhob our dog and erstwhile child sends birthday cards etc to family members. For some reason it would not take my credit card i thought, so I listed my check card. Again it it did not appear to go through, so my husband tried his. Then in a week we got two envelopes with stamps dot com disks newer versions.  Along with printable sheets for stamps, $5.00 in free postage and coupons for 95 in postage over a year.- Gee a bargain? My husband and I live on less than a thousand a month, we watch almost every dime.  He is an skinny insulin dependent diabetic and i lost half my face, neck, mouth, most of my hearing, clear speech and balance to a hereditary cancer. We are kind people.    We work with others in our neighborhood to help them get the things they need. Suddenly checks began to bounce.  It was stamps.com charging my account twice a month 17.40.  I tried e-mailing them for three months, finally had to wait until two int he afternoon to reach them, I asked for a supervisor got a salesman who for ten minutes tried to get me to buy more services,  finally i said lawyer.  A supervisor named Helen came on she was courteous, said it would be stopped.  I asked them to make sure we were in their computer one time, since we had received two envelopes.  She said we were in theirs just once.  By the time this was cleared up it had cost me $300 in returned check charges ALL THEIRS. i REMOVED STAMPS .COM FROM MY COMPUTER Guess what  this month once again my bank statement reflected stamps.com twice when i was already budgeted to the penny. another 41 over drawn, I had fifteen left in my account.  Tomorrow i am going to put a permanent stop payment.  Changing banks, though Ihave had the same bank for four years. Then i am having my SS checks deposited to a prepaid debit card.   Call them again?  I removed the stamps . com from my computer.  i misplaced the number, guess what the only way to get it is by reregistering with stamps.com.  I am tired of online blackmail- this company extorts payments and refuses to stop.  Impossible to reach, impossible to stop with destroying your credit.

Sci*StampsSci*Stamps, Stamps Dot Com Fine print was too fine concerning monthly charges Los Angeles California
I found their website via a United States Postal Service link. I just wanted to buy a couple stamps online and save myself the gas it would cost to run to the post office. I read everything, decided it would work for me, but could not figure out how they were making money selling e-stamps. It wasn't mentioned that I could see. I thought they might have some kind of discount deal with the Postal Service, but that was also not mentioned. I joined up, got 5.00 complimentary postage, and all was well until today when I saw a 15.99 charge against one of my credit cards. I thought it was a scammer using my numbers! I phoned the number next to Sci*Stamps (which I did not recognize, since I bought from Stamps-dot-com) and got a customer service rep who assured me that the 15.99 charge was legit and on the receipt page I got when I signed on for the service. In turn I assured him that had I known I'd be charged 15.99 a month I'd have never signed on to the service in the first place. The idea was to SAVE me money, after all. That same amount would buy me more than enough gas to get to the Post Office and back several times! I was trying NOT to get upset, he was just a drone in the machine. I kept calm and polite and he DID respond nicely and canceled my account with no charge. He said I was still under a grace period. I thanked him, but I will be checking my account for past charges just in case. I will also check my account on this date in January to make sure there's no future charge. I fully believe that Ripoff Report has had an effect on this company's dealings with unhappy customers, but they are still sneaking in that 15.99 a month charge on the unwary. And again--if I'd SEEN that on the totals for my receipt with them I would have never signed up! Mystik Fort Worth, TexasU.S.A.

Stamps ripoff can't cancel service, no free trial period, lies Internet
There is no free trial with this company, it is a lie! They also will not cancel your account, even after you comply with all of their policies. I'm on my 3rd attempt to cancel over the phone and have verbally received confirmation numbers for the so called cancellation and then my credit card is charged again anyway. I am now starting down the dispute it with the credit card company but it is such a hassle. Do not get involved with this company. Anyone that works for them should be ashamed of themselves. STAMPS HIDDEN CHARGES TO FREE TRIAL ripoff Los Angeles, California
Stamps.com offers a free signup or free trial. I signed up. I am Canadian. However I often visit my daughters in the U.S. and have packages to go to various locations in the U.S. I found that I could not use the service because I had a Canadian address. Okay I used my daughter's U.S. address. Then when I tried to print postage label for a package it would not allow me to. So I gave up. A while later I checked in PayPal and they had charged my $15.99 for nothing! A service I never did and never could use! I emailed them. They accept signups by web but NOT CANCELLATIONS. And being in California, their hours are not convenient to phone them. Also, often when I phoned I had long waits and gave up after a while because I have a life! When I finally did get someone they explained that HIDDEN IN THE TERMS OF SERVICE, was the information that I had to pay every month whether I could use their service or not. They cancelled the account. In spite of the cancellation, they attempted to charge me again for the next month. Fortunately PayPal sided with me and refunded my money. However that did not prevent them from trying over and over again to charge me through PayPal which was denied each time by PayPal. Then they started to send letters to my daughter's address in New York state. They were warning letters that they were going to turn my account into collection. I wish I could contact some government organization that would stop the harrassment. Stay away from Stamps.com. Charles welland, OntarioCanada

I have been receiving charges directly to my bank account for the past three months from this company and although suspecious I didn't think much about it until I started reconciling my statements. Thanks to stumbling onto your web site I realize that these are indeed fraudulent charges and have been unable to identify the company. When I called I got, as usual, a person who could barely speak English. I think I finally managed to cancel my account, but they charged for the month anyway. I got so disgusted I let it go, but would like to inform the puplic to be aware of their tactics. Also, for what it's worth, can we ask for an English speaking person to talk to in such cases? C&H Stamps Commemerative and historical Stamps Quakertown Pennsylvania
C&H Stamps supposedly of Quakertown PA is actually operating out of Costa Rica and is selling and delivering almost worthless old stamps for 100 times their true value.  They cold call and convince you that investing in commemorative and historical (C&H) stamps is better than gold.  They deliver the stamps from the Packaging Depot, 641-7 South West End Blvd, Quakertown PA but this is only a package delivery service that is not involved in the scam.  The Packaging Depot has been working with C&H for 20 years but has never met the principals in the company and do not know their real office address.  Do not buy stamps without looking into Scotts Stamp Catalog for their published real value.  Do not believe anything C&H's Jake Ellison has to say as it is all a Ponzi scheme designed to cheat unwary investors.

Saint Paul Stamps Low quality stamps - sold as high quality investment Branson Missouri
I purchased two sets of stamps from a Saint Paul Stamps, located in Branson Missouri / Las Vegas, NV – with the understanding that these were high quality unused stamps in VF/ XF  (very fine/ xtra fine) condition.   I became concerned with my purchase on learning that the Better Business Bureau had revoked Saint Paul Stamps accreditation (from A to F) due to customer complaints. From my own experience and the reviews from BBB (www.bbb.org), I believe Saint Paul Stamps is operating in a very dishonest manner. Three reputable stamp dealers (all members of American Stamp Dealers Association, Inc. - https://www.americanstampdealer.com ) – recommended that I expertise and grade the stamps - as a first step in dealing with what we suspect is a case of gross misrepresentation (i.e. suspicion these stamps are not of the unused XF quality or may have been tampered with). Two of these dealers had prior knowledge of Saint Paul Stamps and stated that it specializing in selling low grade stamps at inflated prices. The best/worst example of the situation is a Benjamin Franklin 1847 stamp in the set, it was presented to me as the prime item, having value greater than $9,000.00 – using the grading of proffesional stamp expertisers, the stamp has a market value of about $100.00

St Paul Stamps Inc Saint Paul Stamps Inc Rare stamps fraud Branson Missouri
Beginning in January 2012 I started purchasing mint condition collectible stamps from St Paul Stamp, Inc (initial purchase was for Garden Flower Scott Cat #2833 for $1500).  They sent me the actual stamps.  As I recall they had an A rating with BBB at the time. They promised significant returns when they were held for 2-3 years and sold at auctions.  Then 7/2/12 they offered me a $4500 tradein for the initial purchase towards 4 different stamps sets they said were worth $13,000, but after my $4500 tradein and $3200 owner discount resulted in my paying $5,300. I agreed to have additional purchases retained in their vault with a certificate of authenticity.  On 5/17/13 I traded in 3 of these sets towards 1902-03 1c-50c Scott catalog 300-310 set valued they said at $9,800 less my tradeins of $4,800 resulted in my cost of $4,800.  My last transaction was on 1/7/14 where I purchased $2 1902-03 Scott #312 valued they said at $11,000 and 5c Lincoln Diagonal mispers valued at the said $10,000.  After tradeins my out of pocket was $5,500.  So, I have spent $17,100 over the years and still have in their vault Scott #300-310, 312, and 5c Lincoln Diagonal misprint. They have called on several occasions with more offerings but told them I wasn't interested in additional purchases or did not return their call.  The last correspondance I had with them was 3/1/17. Since May I have called on may occasions and emailed them wanting to start selling my stamps over the next few years to help fund travel during retirement, but have received no response.  Looking online recently, I have seen many negative reports and others not receiving return calls and indicating this may be a long term scam.  I see now the no longer belong to the BBB and they have some negative reports also.  I have reported this to Federal Trade Commission and I hope others will too.

Sci*stamps ripoff California *EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back into your bank account!
I initially signed up on one these surveys I now call scams and decided to cancel. I called to cancel and as I remeber someone answered. I told them it was cheaper for me to order them through the post office. I have not received and stamps form this company and am disputing these charges a total of 3 so far. unhappy customer Ellis olathe, KansasU.S.A. EDitor's Suggestions on how to get your money back! HERE IS WHAT RIP-OFF REPORT SUGGESTS YOU DO: Go to your bank within 60 days of the charge, or as soon as you know about the charge, don't delay, and tell them that there has been fraudulent activity within your account. Explain that you wish to file a dispute, and demand that they assist you in accordance with Federal Regulation E. According to the majority of victims interviewed by Rip-off Report, those who immediately called their banks to dispute the charges did not get very far. Many victims got the following responses from their banks: we could not do anything for you or you waited too long; it has been more than 60 days. If the bank is says that you have waited too long, explain to them how you called their 800 number as soon as the charges were found, and were told by the bank that nothing could be done. Remind the bank that they failed to assist you properly at the 800 #, and instead, provided you with an inadequate explanation of your right to dispute. Tell the bank that it's their fault time has expired, and since they gave you the wrong info to begin with, they will just have to deal with it, take the loss and reverse the charges. Tell them the truth; this was unauthorized and your account was NOT to be charged! Keep emphasizing how you never authorized anything! Direct them to the hundreds of victims reports that were filed on Rip-off Report.com. And if you're at the bank, walk them over to their computer and make them go to this site! If you are on the phone with them, tell them you will wait while they access this site! Either way, be persistent! DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER! Let them know nicely, that you were advised to Report them (the Bank) and this situation to the Banking Commission in your state. Since each state has a different name for the agency/controller over banks, find that name before you call or get to the bank so you can throw it in their face. The more knowledgeable you appear to be, the further you will get. And just continue to demand the Federal Regulation E form! The bank CAN, MUST and WILL reverse the charge! But, you must be persistent; ask to speak to the supervisor or the area manager for all the branches in the state. Let the bank personnel know you are meeting with the media later in the day, that you would much rather they do the right thing (as most other banks have) by looking at the complaints and immediately reversing the charge(s) to your account; no matter how long ago it was. Be sure to call the Media if necessary so you are telling the truth. If you have to, be loud (but nice) in front of other customers. If you are just calling by phone, the above tactics should still work. The bank can easily fax or mail to you the Federal Regulation E dispute form. CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge. In rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here. Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the Rip-off Report .. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action. And good luck Let us know how you do! Stamps ripoff dishonest billing and customer service practices Los Angeles California
While I understand my obligations as outlined in the terms and conditions, what I do not understand is the shifty and underhanded cancellation practices (read practices not policy.) One can only cancel via telephone, however , it takes an act of congress to obtain said number. Apparently, it is only found in the T&C. I emailed on several occasions asking for the contact information only to be completely ignored. Meanwhile the monthly service fee is being charged to my credit card. At long last I was able to retrieve the number from fat wallet dot com (google stamps (dot com) 1 800 numbers.) I dialed the number and chose option two--cancel membership. I was on hold for approximately 27 minutes before deciding to call again on my cell phone while staying on hold on the land line. I wasn't on hold long enough for the music to begin before an associate answered in a cheerful voice, How can I help you? After this individual underestimated my intelligence enough to tell me that I was still on hold because the 1-800 number was experiencing technical difficulties (mind you, it's the same number,) I was finally able to cancel said membership. Having said that, they insist upon charging the month following the date of cancellation as per T&C. This is a distrustful company with dubious customer service and billing practices. Please consider your needs carefully before dealing with this company. There are many companies that provide the same service such as the USPS. Jennifer Watertown, New YorkU.S.A.

Stamps watch out you'll be charged after free trial, not nice company! ripoff Los Angeles California
This is a copy of the letter that I sent to stamps.com July 28, 2006 Ken McBride, CEO Stamps.com 12959 Coral Tree Place Los Angeles, CA 90066-7020 Re: account xx68 cancellation number xx1769 Dear Mr. McBride: My name is Karen XXXXX and I was a customer of yours. I recently received an offer for a free trial for stamps.com so I took advantage of it. I never understood what I was going to be charged from you, so I wrote a note on the postcard you provided me with that offered me $10 in free postage. I asked on this note if I was going to be charged and how much. I never heard back from your company. I purchased a little over $25 in postage from you. (Your customer service agents have since admitted to me that your departments within your company do not communicate with each other and the note I wrote was never passed on to the correct department). I received an invoice for $18 from your company. Of course I am outraged. That's almost doubling the cost of my postage. (Not to mention I'd have to order more labels plus the price of ink to print these!) I can go to usps.com and order stamps for free or drive less than 2 miles to my local post office. Why would I want to double my postage prices? I have contacted your office (ad nauseum) to no avail. While I'm sure your charges were posted when I downloaded the program and you are required to hit next several times. Anyone who has ever downloaded a program knows you just keep hitting next until it finishes. I do not know ANYONE who reads all of that information. A funny note: I just had my IQ test done and found out I'm ABOVE average! Isn't that interesting? In the top 3% as a matter of fact. Yet somehow, I still didn't understand or know how much you were going to charge me. I find that to be odd. (Unless of course you didn't really want me to know what my fees would be). I would respectfully request that my fees be credited immediately (all of them) and close my account. I was going to tell you that I would report you to the Better Business Bureau and rip off report.com but I guess that wouldn't really matter to you because you already have 49 complaints logged in against you on rip off report and 822 reports with the Better Business Bureau. HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT knowing you are making money by ripping innocent people off? Next time you step into your expensive car, or swim at your million dollar mansion, remember you got to have these items by ripping off middle class America. I hope you're proud of yourself. Sincerely, Karen XXXXXXXX cc: Better Business Bureau Rip Off Report.com Karen La Grange, KentuckyU.S.A. STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public?
