Yelp! YELP IS A MODERN DAY MAFIA Nationwide Nationwide
Our business recently received several positive reviews from legitimate existing live people - our customers. We were very pleased to see these reviews posted to Yelp. However, to our surprise, within 24-hours all of these positive, recommended reviews were moved by Yelp into the non-recommended category. They are acting like censors and controlling agent within the open internet space, which is in violation with any applicable laws, especially Anti-trust laws, regarding the internet. They are thieves and liars. They are using their website to their advantage to promote their business and improve and advance Yelp's bottom line. DON'T ever use them. They are a FRAUD.Everyone should know this.

YELP YELP Dishonest, manuplitive, extortive, Nationwide
Yelp publishes unverified, bogus and ranting reviews from non consumers. Yelp is now becoming the Jerry Springer Show of consumer reporting, Yelp filters out legitimate reviews from actual consumers if reviews are left on close range dates. bbb publishes ONLY reviews from consumers who can prove the did business with the company being commented on. Yelp published ALL negative company reviews from anyone whether they were an actual customer or just a bogus NON  consumer  ranting on as a competitor or just a cyber Bully ! Yelp condones Cyber Bullying ! Yelp removed actual customers reviews who have signed and valid purchase contracts with our company. Yelp will not return calls or emails from non advertising companies with legitimate complaints about the bogus review published by Yelp.       A class action lawsuit against YELP,  led by a Yelp investor Joseph Curry, focuses on Yelp's bogus first-hand reviews. The suit says Yelp required or coerced  businesses to pay to suppress negative reviews, and then lied about the practice. Yelp allegedly made its millions by hiding the fact that some of that money came from extorting businesses with bad reviews. And that lack of transparency allegedly allowed company insiders to earn more than $81.5 million from insider trading proceeds. The Federal Trade Commission had received more than 6000 complaints about Yelp, many contending that Yelp would solicit businesses to buy advertisements on the Company's website and would retaliate if businesses declined by deleting positive reviews and claiming the deletions were due to an updated automated algorithm. Yelp Yelp posting negative information only. Nationwide
I have hundreds of customers and I will never please everyone. The fact of the mater that this disgusting organization known as Yelp keeps posting negative feedback and leaves out all the positive. I don't know what their game plan is but it is hurting businessess and there should be a class action law suit to put them out of business. I dont have a problem if a customer wants to post a negative feedack. I don't know how long a negative feedback should remain but the ones posted are three and four years old and I had tens of positive feedback by happy customers which I don't see. I think their game plan is to sign up for something as a business so they can milk you. I suggest that Yelp makes an attempt to treat businessess with respect.

This article has been reprinted with permission from the author: WT1S News - Top Stories, Local News, Weather and more May 5th 2011 Some of you may have heard the hype regarding the controversial site Yelp.com in the news over the last year. We have received several letters and calls from our viewers who have expressed serious concern over the site. We have decided to launch an investigation of our own into Yelp and it's founder, Jeremy Stoppelman. We have sent an undercover investigator to get to the bottom of Jeremy's motives, but we uncovered more than we bargained for. For the safety of our investigator, we shall call him simply  Joe. Due to the sensitive nature of our investigation, we have decided to keep all parties involved anonymous in order to protect them from retaliation. But we don't want to jump ahead here. First we want to expose what we discovered about Yelp.com and the scripts the site uses. Two IT analysts from Washington discovered that Yelp.com actually exploits users who visit the site. Yelp installs malware onto the unsuspecting users computer and harvests personal information. They have concluded that simply visiting Yelp.com puts you at an increased risk of a cyber attack since Yelp installs software that they use to steal your personal information. We found this very disturbing. So as if that wasn't disturbing enough, we sent our undercover investigator to get close to Jeremy Stoppelman. Our investigator, Joe has years of experience blending in and learning how to get friendly with high profile individuals. So after a few weeks of doing what he does best, Stoppelman started talking. What you are about to learn may disturb you. Joe uncovered a lot of disturbing information about Stoppelman. Joe got close enough to Stoppelman to meet him at several locations. On one occasion, Stoppelman admitted to our investigator that he loves cocaine. After making this statement, our undercover investigator asked Stoppelman : You're kidding, right?. Stoppelman replied, Does it look like I'm kidding? and pulled out a small bag of cocaine and placed it on the table. Stoppelman proceeded to cut a line and snorted the cocaine while our investigator just sat there, trying not to look disgusted. Jeremy repeatedly tried to offer Joe a line of cocaine. A week later, Stoppelman contacted our investigator Joe again (he is very careful not to use his cell phone number, which we have but have chosen not to release). He told him about a party that night and asked if  Joe wanted to go with him. Of course,  Joe said absolutely. They got to the party at 11:15 PM. It was at a private mansion in a secluded area. Joe described it as surreal. A beautiful gated entrance followed by a long winding driveway. Upon entering the mansion, we were greeted by two women who offered us drinks. But something was wrong. It turned out that those women were not really women at all. Joe explained to us that both had deep voices and Adam's apples. The two guided us downstairs to where the DJ was playing. To Joe's unpleasant surprise, he found several men engaging in sexual acts with one another. At this point, Jeremy turned to Joe and said What's wrong? and placed his arm around him. Joe, a confessed homophobe, said to Jeremy I'm sorry Jeremy this is not my kind of party. At that point, Jeremy became very angry, throwing his glass at a wall. He said to Joe I thought you were interested in me. Joe, trying to keep his composure, politely excused himself from the mansion. On his way out, he heard Jeremy utter a very insulting remark aimed at an African American male which was at the party. He told him Get the (((REDACTED FOUL LANGUAGE))) The African America man, who was clearly intoxicated -  was escorted out by two security guards. Unfortunately, due to Jeremy's highly erratic lifestyle and violent tendencies, we weren't able to continue our investigation. However, we believe that we have done our job to expose Jeremy Stoppelman for the person that he really is. We just got more than we bargained for. WT1S plans to release photos of Jeremy Stoppelman during the course of this investigation within the next few weeks, but we don't want to create an inflammatory situation. Yelp, Yelp Inc, Yelp.com Yelp extortion San Fransisco California
Warning to all customers and yelpers:Yelp has closed our business account because we refuse to advertise with them.  They have tried repeatedly and consistently to force our company to advertise with them. after refusing to advertise with yelp, they have filtered all of our positive reviews and even deleted some of our positive reviews by our customers, only to showcase any 1,2,3 star rating.  Reviews by ki. k and Monique. S are fake reviews by fake customers and, in our opinion, could work for yelp. Please be advised that at least 1/3 of reviews on yelp are fake. Yelp keeps control of a business’s star ratings in order to extort money from businesses with promises of getting rid of, or filtering out any negative reviews, and only showcasing positive reviews, most of which are fake reviews by the company or by yelp team members.  you will notice that most, if not all, companies that advertise on yelp have a 4 or 5 star rating, however, if you look under their not recommended reviews they have a lot of negative reviews, or the negative reviews have been deleted by yelp.  If you were a business that wanted to advertise on yelp, you would not want to showcase a 1 or 2 star rating.  Yelp is a business, and must make an income. Their income is solely from advertising dollars, thus, if a business has a poor rating, they will not want to advertise with yelp, so yelp helps the business by taking their money and filtering out any negative reviews.  as well, if a business has a 4-5 star rating without advertising on their business on yelp, yelp will extort money from that company by filtering out all of their positive reviews, showcasing any negative reviews, and in our opinion, going so far as to write fake negative reviews to hurt the business into advertising with yelp. They have now closed our business account so that we are not able to leave any feedback on any reviews, and we have no control over our business on yelp.  Yelp again has full control of our business by controlling the number of stars we have, number of positive or negative reviews we have, and not allowing us to defend our business from these fake negative reviews. Please note that yelp has a rating of 2.5 stars on its own review site (please find yelp near San Francisco and you will see that most of their negative reviews are from business owners who are having the same issue as our business, yelp trying to extort advertising dollars from the business. they have a 2.5 rating, however, if you look at all the reviews that yelp itself has filtered, they would be at a 1 star. please read these reviews from other business owners being extorted by yelp for advertising dollars.  the complaints are also from yelp reviewers who are trying to leave positive and negative reviews on businesses, but don't understand why their reviews are being filtered for no reason other than that business has spent advertising dollars to have those negative reviews removed, or the business has not opted to spend their money or submit themselves to yelps extortion practices, so their positive reviews are being filtered.i have asked yelp to reinstate our business account so that we can face our accusers and defend our business, however, because our answers to their reviews contains comments about yelp and their faulty, fake filtering system, they have now banned us from yelp, however, have kept our business active on yelp in order to hurt our business. Please help us, and thousands and thousands of other businesses who have experienced yelps extortion practices by writing to yelp, and by joining the following websites:https://www.facebook.com/wehateyelphttps://www.facebook.com/pages/yelp-sucks-businesses-fight-back/263402807082326https://www.facebook.com/yelpextortionPlease google yelp extortion and you will see hundreds of articles on yelp extortion practices.  There are even articles from past yelp employees who have admitted to writing fake negative reviews on businesses to teach them a lesson or for fun.We have opened a case with the BBB, however, as you can see by googling yelp BBB most cases are unresolved, and all have the same generic comments by yelp.  The businesses are all complaining about fake reviews and extortion.  Yelp does not have any phone numbers or emails available for business to contact a yelp representative, except if you want to advertise with them.  We have also opened a case with the FTC and usa.gov to file consumer complaints against yelp.

Yelp , YELP! , Yelp Advertising Yelp!. .? More like Scam! Internet
mooDo Not, just as others have said, Advertise with Yelp! They say anything to get you to sign up then you never get any response! They also block you from making changes to your own free listing on Yelp! They charged my account without my permission after they assured me multiple times that they would not! I have received numerous calls from sales people who mentioned they saw I was advertising on Yelp and wanted to see if I would try advertising with their company, or use their company for SEO.. this proves that Yelp doesn’t monitor clicks and make certain I only pay for people searching for and interested in using my service as they claimed! !! Total b/s company!  I never got to approve my ad before they published it they have random pictures on it instead of my logo they never sent me a bill to pay within 30 days, charged my bank day 1! listed me in areas that my company does not service was told I could receive help with account (sales person) lie! I get no response or answer! (all things they lied about) (too many to list!) I finally spoke with a manager (only after I said I wanted to cancel), he said “absolutely, we will get these changes made to your account” (5 things that were wrong, including my service area) “we want you to be happy with the service you are receiving. ” ..at which point I asked him what changes would he be making (before getting off the phone, wanted to make sure he understood) He couldn’t name ONE SINGLE Thing we had discussed! he wasn’t even listening! I thought I had heard him talking in the background (why I asked him to repeat items back to me) RUN! this guy is the ” Stupid Visor ” he’s the guy training these Scam Artist Demons! DO NOT Advertise with this shady company! They charged me $375 and I only received 16 sales calls about my website, not one call from one potential customer! also competitors are not monitored and are probably clicking your ad! I have now have had all of my five star reviews removed THANKS YELP!

Yelp advertising Yelp ads and Theresa Hoyt, ad representative Internet
I had a free listing on Yelp for a few years and got a solicitation from Yelp to become a paid advertiser. I have a towing company and for the most part product was delivered as promised. The problem is that I have over 3 years 6 5 star reviews that for whatever reason are hidden and not recommended by Yelp, and one single star review by a angry customer lashing out at AAA but blamed us for their bad experience stemming from being stranded for 6 hours. We got the call at the end after another towing company dropped the call and responded within ETA, all dispatch times and on scene times are recorded and can be verified but the customer insisted on leaving us the bad review. This is the only review out of 7 that Yelp has highlighted and they claim they cannot do anything about the other 6 positive reviews being kept from public view. When anyone searches our ad looking for towing we have only one negative review. If you have a business don't waste your money advertising with Yelp, their customer service is impotent and they can't or won't do anything to regulate their review system. As a consumer you have no recourse to dispute fraudulent reviews and they will consistently (6 for 6) hide any good reviews you may have achieved. Waste of money, stick with the free listing, why marquee your business highlighted with only bad reviews?

YELP:  Sickening, Fraud, Scam, Extortion Co.   Just how does the GEOs./ Employees sleep on their pillows at night!!!!!!!!!!!! Like 1000s of others I had almost 5 stars, until one day this BIG BAD LIE came up! I flagged it at 3 different times. I said why are you lying! NO RESPONDS from who ever wrote it, if they even got it! Weeks went by and all of a sudden, I get a call from YELP a Sales person, saying WOW you almost have 5 stars. The FIRST thing that came out of my voice was, yes all except that BIG LIE ONE! They said yes we know it is a lie so we took it off. I said good thank you (They just admitted that it was a LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Once they new that I did not want to advertise, but wait it gets better a few days later the BIG LIE show up again! They started a chain of reactions, once you get a few bad reviews is all it takes to for the LOW LIFE PEOPLE that have nothing better to do then to get paid by YELP for fakes reviews or is some peoples LIFES so boring they have nothing better to do with their time then to DOWN GRADE business. The thing that gets me mad is that people can just say anything and you cannot do anything but to pay $300.00 to $ 350.00 a month to get the bad ones removed! (ISNT THATS EXTORTIONS!!!!)  Waste of time and money to take Yelp to court, Yelp says it is free speech! Guarantee YELP will have the TOP paying Lawyers from all of the rip of money that they get from business! Who knows maybe the Judge gets paid off too!LOL. You cant record them unless they know that they are being recorded. Hey business owners I have a good one if all Business owners STOP PAYING MONTHLY contacts, YELP would be out of business! I have  used several different e-mails and reviews never get posted. I understand that they have a so called filter. BS. Right now I am in a situation where the owner feels that he treated me well and I am not able to post a review. I believe YELP is purposely deleting reviews. Yelp Reviews are Unfairly Filtered Internet
I have had ten customers review my business on Yelp over the past couple of years, however, the proprietary Yelp filter has conveniently hidden eight reviews that were 4 and 5 star ratings, while leaving two vitriolic and nasty 1 star ratings represent my company on the front page. While I understand that everyone has a right to speak their mind, and everyone is entitled to their opinion, as a small business providing a service for the past 16+ years, we are bound to have a few poor reviews. But our business is based on our overall high levels of customer satisfaction. Publish all of the posted reviews and let the customer, NOT a filter determine if we run an ethical and service minded business. Filtering out ALL of the high reviews and leaving only the poor reviews is bias and uncalled for.My rating for Yelp is an F or 0 Star!

YELP Unfair Business Practices Internet
Yelp contacted me to advertise my business with them. I listened to their presentation and was interested until they told me the price. I just couldnt afford the $600, so I declined. They called me several more times, I was always respectful to the people that called and explained that the fee was too high for me and that if the had a less expensive plan I would consider trying an ad. That wasn't available so i declined to place an ad.I didn't give it much thought until a client told me they had recently posted a review for my business on yelp. I wnt to lookat it and couldn't find it . Then I went to my business page on Yelp and saw that in the filtered file there were 11FIVE STAR reviews that were all hidden. II knew that several were showing before I declined to advertise with them, now they are all gone. Don't think it was a coincidence. Bottom line, unfair business practiices. Now even if I could afford to advertise with them I wouldn't

YELP unfair review practices scottsdale Arizona
we are getting discriminated against at YELP.  They show only the bad reports and pull down the good reviews.  We had good clients that wrote reviews and it was taken down within 48 to 72 hours.  The bad reviews stay up forever.  We even had a Manager at Yelp in Scottsdale who came to us and loved our service but said he could not write a review because it was a conflict of interest.  However the second time he scheduled and cancelled last minute they wrote a bad review fast enough with false statements that we were not able to service him. It was the client who cancelled last minute on us and somehow it was our fault and this manager and his girlfriend wrote a review that it was our fault.

Yelp Fraudulent charges Nationwide California
Yelp contacted Travelwizard.com and solicited advertising with them, stating that they would direct potential customers who were searching on yelp for luxury travel services to call our business phone or direct them to click on our website link on Yelp. The saleperson was very convincing that these customers were far more likly to purchase travel because they used Yelp to vet our business. The representive explained the cost per call and click through and extimated ampoximately $50 a month in chagres would be expected. The following month we got charged over $700.00 for phone calls they said they transfered to our company. Our company uses a ShoreTel phone system records every call, incoming and outgoing permently and there was zero calls from Yelp. Furthermore, our receptionist asks every person that calls our business how they found us, for business purposes. We only have three phone receptionists and they are very good at what they do and none of them ever received a call from any person that found us on Yelp. I called and discussed this with the rep and canceled our ad, but still got charged and additional $1,035.00. We then contacted American Express to stop any further charges and asked them to refute the charges. We provided concrete proop of the ripoff by send our Shoretel report, and Google Anylitic's. American Express refuted the charges for us, but Yelp sent the contract we signed and a list of call that we suppossedly forwarded to our company to them and then American Experss let their charge go through. We repeated this process two times, and each time Yelp sent the same information back to American Express. My conclusion is that American Express believes Yelp, even though we have rock solid proop we did not get the calls or clicks we were charged for.Be warned, Yelp is a scam of the worse kind, supposedly a compny that should help consumers, but is an outragious fraud.

Yelp Fraud Internet
Amazing and shocking Yelp is committing extortion I agree with this post they are purposely deleting positive reviews of businesses that DO NOT PAY. There is a restaurant in my home town that is local and everyone loves it, I won't say the name. I checked them out on Yelp just to verify if all this was true, sure enough their rating is low and in my opinion it is because they don't pay Yelp money. Here's the giveaways: the negative reviews are all EXTREMELY negative like 1 or 2 stars from bitter crazy people who just want to complain in many cases about something profoundly f**cking stupid. The food was nasty with greasy gravy the waitress gave me attitude they made me late to my appointment (this is why South Park makes fun of you Yelpers lol how is YOU running late the RESTAURANT'S FAULT!!). This is a well-loved restaurant that all the locals attend regularly and I know for a fact that some of them positively review it so you can't tell me that Yelp isn't hand picking these complaints. Next giveaway: the positive reviews were literally almost all 5 star reviews, like literally 97% of them. But the thing is that there was sooooo few. It's as if Yelp took dozens and dozens of 5 star reviews and straight up DELETED them, then posted all the reviews from the big baby customers who had something, ANYTHING, negative to say. Of course I have no proof of any of this but it just doesn't add up in my mind this is one of the best mom and pop restaurants around and their Yelp rating stinks but I know they don't advertise, so they probably turned down Yelp when asked to list with them. MAKES PERFECT SENSE YELP IS A SCAM!!

Yelp Cheating Fraudsters West Palm Beach Internet
This company purports to help small businesses, but they really make business MUCH WORSE. Their sales staff are BS artists who promise the world but really just lie. They block positive reviews about your business but post lots of bad ones, which are suspect at best.  Question: why would anyone with a brain pay lots of money for advertising to a company that is going to screw you with bad reviews? That would be insanity. Everyone needs to band together and tell these extortionists to go to hell. Yelp sucks!

YELP Extortion Dover Florida
I am a small business owner in Dover, Florida, we have been in business for over 20 years. We at Budy's Roofing have been corresponding and calling YELP since August, 2016 to speak with the representaives and proper department regarding the negative review on YELP and addressing them placing our good reviews at the bottom and stating NOT RECOMMENDED. We have followed all of their advice: respond to the review, e-mail feedback HQ, call customer service (which we have done several times) and offer too show them proof that this is a false report and that we have never had a contract or done work for this person. The most shocking thing about this is that while time they have sales representatives calling me to advertise; each time I express that we do not appreciate their extorsion tactics to get us to advertise! and each time that blame it on the computer and assure us this is not true. For a year now they have called me repeatedly and everytime I mention that they are allowing false reviews and suppressing good reviews as NOT RECOMMENDED they deny it and ask  again. I had a customer actually call me and complain because they took the time to submit a good review and when they realized they were not recommended they were inferiated. I told him to file a complaint against YELP since we have had no luck getting answers. I recently found that they have nearly 3000 complaints filed with the FTC 1466 filed with the BBB. Thhis is a horrible Company and I am very concerned when a Company like this is allowed to continue to be in Business and thrive by harming the creditbility of others.
