This company does not care about individuals lives, all they care about is collecting money for furniture that is not even the real thing. When you call individuals to inform them, they are rude and doesn't care. Even with a police report, this company expects individuals to pay for something that was taken from them illegally.

Then when you try to talk to anyone in management, you can't reach anyone. They put you on hold and never come back to the phone or they hang the phone up in your face.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS

AUTHOR: Justin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 16, 2008

First off, Rentacenter does not TARGET anyone. EVERYONE has a choice to conduct their business however they please. Common sense tells us that Rent-to-own is HIGHER than retail at sears, wal-mart, etc. Some people cannot go out and pay 1200.00 for a fridge when theirs goes out, but they can go to rentacenter and get one delivered that day in most cases, and pay a monthly payment of 120.00. Not everyone has a large bank account to fall back on, or jobs that pay 80+ thousand a year. Is that a company's problem? No. Businesses exist to make money. If a man can't afford to go buy a 1200.00 fridge at sears, it might be easier for him to pay 120.00 a month until it's paid off. Regardless, it is the CONSUMER'S choice. And if they CHOOSE to rent with rentacenter or any other RTO company, they must take responsibility for their actions. They sign an agreement to make ON-TIME payments, and are given optional insurances. If a theft occurs, and is a legitimate theft. The consumer must use common sense to call the police and report the crime. Obtain the police report showing FORCED ENTRY and turn it into your store's manager. If the police report does not show forced entry, it will not be covered by rentacenter. You are STILL LIABLE for the total balance of the merchandise. You have a choice... you can assume responsibility and finish paying for the merchandise you were responsible for, or you can simply dodge and duck your rentacenter until the merchandise is charged off as a skip/stolen account. And you will not be able to rent with rentacenter again. Life is full of choices, and they all have consequences. Make your payments ontime and be honest with everyone you do business with, and you wouldn't have these problems.

Rentacenter is heartless, rude and greedy !!

AUTHOR: Ex-employee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 13, 2008

Ms Susan from Illinois should work for RentaCenter with the limited knowledge and empathy SHE HAS____she would fit right in with these heastless b^%**rds !!!

Over Eight years in multiple states working for RentaCenter in the past until finally ending that career in 2007 is why I side with the RENTACENTER CUSTOMERS.

First, remember that RentaCenter targets low-income people living in low-income areas.
2nd, In eight years, I did read police reoprts of stolen furniture, people held at gunpoint, shot, and the most horrible stories anyone can imagine.
3rd, My heart goes out to anyone who has experienced such a tragedy in their lives.

Lastly, RentaCenter does NOT care if their customers are in pain (physically or emotionally), at risk of losing life, in distress, or if their famolies are at risk. This is what they look at every second ----$$$--and thats all!
As an employee of RentaCenter, I had to hide personal details for my superiors on many occasions with regards to such things within their lives so RAC would not put more stress, harm, or harassment into consumers lives

Your story doesn't make sense. Where do you live that furniture is stolen?

You are saying that you almost lost your life. Did the thief have a gun to your head as he walked out of your home with a couch on his back??

No matter, you owe the money, it isnt the rental centers fault that it was stolen and you didn't insure it.

Heck if your thinking worked, I could rent furniture and when I didn't want to pay anymore, I could give it away and claim it was stolen and not have to pay for it.

RentaCenter loses lawsuit...consumers win BIG

AUTHOR: Ex-employee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 10, 2008

Wow...The last post has me corrected.

Thank God ...a group of people finally stood up for their rights in New Jersey and showed THEY HAVE RIGHTS.... bottom line is RentACenter LOST BIG TIME.....just not big enough.

I stand corrected on the amount....i am still correct on everything else.

Please AMERICA>>>STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS ...IT STARTS WITH ONLY ONE PERSON...........AND RENTACENTER EXPECTS YOU TO BE WEAK AND POOR AND WITHOUT THE MEANS FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION.

Contact your attorneys generals office with your complaints, local prosecutors, and the general public..... this is only one lawsuit that renta center has lost..this is only one site that shows consumer complaints and ripoffs...BE STONG AND PERSEVERE

Understanding and greed --RentaCenter= GREED

AUTHOR: Ex-employee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 29, 2008

I am an ex-employee of RentACenter for exactly this reason.

I understand your situation, even without specific details, because I witnessed this daily for close to a decade while emloyed with RAC.

I suspect you were in a life-thretening situation and some furniture was stolen with this episode, You may want to read YOUR specifuc agreement, especially the parts attached under liability waiver from the original rental/Lease agreement you have with RentaCenter/Texas....every state is different. If you have a waiver chosen and signed that covers lost or stolen merchandise....examine if you also have a charge of $1-3.00 weekly applied to your individual agreement...if so ...RAC is already covered for the loss...if not, get some legal advice. If you had renters insurance, you may want to file the loss with the police report ant insrance company.

Hopefully, you are in good health and you traumatic experience is over. Unfornately, RentaCenter is still a concern. If they fail to talk to you, just document all info concerning your efforts, date, time, and who you speak with, hang-ups, etc,, KEEP THE LIST !!!! Send a certified letter, with the police report explaining what happened with the merchandise and hopefully they will write it off.

Its hard to saywithout more detailed information.

The last comment concerning this post was from Destucto (good name for such a loser) Rentacenter doesnt have to be cruel and heartless to make a profit !!!!!

RentaCenter lost a class action lawsuit in New Jersey for over $150 million dollars for practices that a New Jersey court called loansharking and awarded New Jersey customers their rightful money back. Now, not calling RentaCenter unsuccessful with over $3 billion in 2007 revenue....why....because they didn't have to be Mafia and break legs to get their money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAKE UP AMERICA

If I buy a car, and it's stolen, I stole owe money on that car, whether it was my fault or not. They are a business. No, they don't care about your personal life, they want your money. That is exactly why them, along with many other businesses, are successful.
