To start they harass my husband and I because we have requested multiple times that the payments be switched to by weekly and they've never done so. They will call his phone 5-10 times daily the day of or after our payment is due. And show up to my house the following week and become very pushy and rude. It truly makes me uncomfortable. We are being charged almost 4000 dollars after everything for a used product!!! I dont have an issue purchasing gently used products but not under the deception that it's new and full price..

Wen we purchased it my husband assisted the associate in carrying the t.v. up from their "store room", a basement below the store, it was not in a box, came with no protective plastic wrap or any sign of manufactures packaging. It was already on a stand and all they gave us was the TV, remote, power cord, and 3D glasses which were in a manufacturers box. At first I was some what puzzled but wasn't asking too many questions in the excitement of our new purchase, in hind sight I should have.

Upon arriving home we set it up and realized it was already logged into someone's Netflix account. I loved the television and just said maybe it was a demo t.v. at which point my mother, whom was there when we brought home, pointed out that even if so it's still a used product that was advertised and sold to me as brand new. And that's deceptive labeling and against FTC regulations if my research is correct. The television has fallen off its stand due to a stripped screw and almost fell on my 2 year old son the second time. They picked it up that day and said it would take 1-2 weeks to fix and have now had it for going on 3 weeks. I am still making my payments. I suppose my question is due I have any legal recourse or would I just be following a dead end?

I do thank you for trying to help, but short of me walking out with my used product and ownership papers, considering I've already paid your company 1800 dollars for a used product, I will never be returning with my business.  I will however call your corporate office, the state attorney general,  the BBB, the FTC, and any media outlet that will listen to have at least this RAC's business practices investigated. And considering your corporate employer has already been in the lime light for textbook collections harassment on customers I don't think the PR department wants to deal with the public being turned on to the ILLEGAL practices and sales of at least this one store. I wonder how many others are just as crooked? Again I appreciate YOUR honest concern for the customer but simply being pacified by you or corporate is not going to help me feel like I wasn't completely being screwed for the last year.

Hi, I work at RAC and I’m very sorry to hear about the recent experience you’ve had with us. It is our policy to work with our customers to set up payment plans that work best for them, so what you’ve described isn’t the way we like to do business at all. The service you received is also very concerning, so I definitely recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team at 1-800-422-8186 ASAP so they can help make things right. Thank you.
