Republic Services Allied Waste, Advanced Waste, Unreasonable Contract Termination Clauses, Gouging Prices, Non-Existent Customer Care Lakeland, Florida

Be warned if you or your company has a trash services contract with Republic Services. We executed a contract with one company 4 1/2 years ago for our business dumpster rental & service, the original company was bought by one company and then they were bought out by Republic.

I had a competing company offer a quote of 1/2 of the Current Republic bill. When I tried to cancel I was greeted by strongarm even threatening waving of the contract in my face. No wonder this  company needs a contract to do business, because their customer service would drive them out of business.  This 5 year contract can only be cancelled in a very short window (At least 60 prior but no more than 90 prior to the expiration of the contract. And if you do not cancel it will automatically renew for the same term.  A single 30 day window every 5 years???

My original contract had a 10% price increase allowed each year. Republic has gone right along and maximized the price increase to the full extent. Even the salesman admitted that I was being charged about 20% over the standard rate for our level of service.

If you try to cancel early they will try to charge you for 6 months service. Typical utility monopoly attitude - a sense of entitlement and getting paid for nothing.  Go with a different company!!!!!!
