I rented a U-Haul trailer to tow vehicle to CA and bought the insurance they offer for extended coverage by RepWest Insurance. It was type of trailer that towed vehicle completely off the ground with the strap tie-downs around the front wheels. When I arrived to CA just pulling off from a green light, the car being towed comes off the rear of the trailer! The front of the vehicle basically rolled right off hitting the ground (while in park and emergency break applied) Breaks the axle, motor mounts, and radiator (picture evidence provided).

Cailfornia Police Department happens to roll up while the vehicle is off the trailer, the put their lights warning other drivers, get out and ask how it came off? CA PD observed the trailer and pointed out that the tie-down straps weren't securely fastened to the metal cranks and weren't properly locking in place! I was like "holy s**t are you serious?" I was so lucky the vehicle didnt fall off while driving on the freeway!

I filed the claim with RepWest (insurance you can buy from U-Haul when you rent) with a proper incident report and pictures. Insurance adjuster didnt even have the professionalism to return ANY of my numerous phone calls and emails!

Watch out total complete scam!

I finally got a returned phone call by insurance adjuster Anthony. You could tell his supervisor was in the room while we were talking. Anthony lied and said he tried calling me numerous times lol. When I asked him why havent he responded to my five(5) emails, he went right into the address that they had on file (father in-laws address). When I reminded him that our first few coorespondance was through email why didnt he just emai? Trying to hold him accountable to an explaination, he just gave me a phony apology with no clarification. Went right into claiming damage to the vehicle was not caused by the falty straps on the towing trailer. This insurance adjuster (Anthony) didnt even conduct a proper investigation into the claim. He didn't even bother to contact the auto-repair shop that conducted the repairs to vehicle. Basically another one of those deals,, a scammy insurance company not wanting to pay out on a legitimate claim.

Be careful buying extended coverage insurance, their usually low budget companies they wont pay out.
