Rob McAllister AND Residential Mortgage Concepts (the company he scammed for at the time). Promised me a high interest loan that did not have a prepayment penalty so that I could refinance right away at a lower rate once in the house.

Once I went to refinance that son-of-a-b***h brokered a loan for me with a 2% prepayment penalty!! When I called him, he said there was nothing he could do, that the loan company ripped me off, not him. He refused to do anything to help me and probably moved on to the next poor unsuspecting client.

He NOW works for West Seattle Mortgage, Inc. on California Ave in West Seattle. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THE SCUMBAG!!!!!!

Poor Rob... he is a great loan officer

AUTHOR: Kathy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 09, 2007

I was just googling Rob to get his number to refer him to yet another client and was shocked to find this complaint.

Rob has done 2 mortgages for me personally, and as a realtor, I have referred him many times to my clients. He is honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable, creative, and hard-working. He also prices his loans very competitively, taking less in commissions than most so that his clients get a good deal.

I know for a fact that a lender (and Rob was not the lender, just the broker) CANNOT give a client a pre-payment penalty without them SIGNING a clearly stated disclosure about it. It is not buried in pages of fine print, they must specifically acknowledge the terms of the prepayment penalty. (This is also why the problem could have been fixed with a little patience.) I also know that it occasionally happens that lenders try to wrongly charge a prepayment penalty when someone tries to refinance their homes. As a broker, Rob took exactly the right steps to try to help her clear up a problem that he did not even cause in the first place.

Unfortunately for Christy, she was impatient and certainly does not understand the loan process and the difference between a broker and a lender. She could have waited to have the problem corrected before she allowed herself to pay an unnecesary penalty to the lender (NOT to Rob). It is unfortunate for Rob that she chose to slander him unfairly. Rob's reputation is excellent and well-earned.

I Second the Notion That Rob Mcallister is an Honorable Professional

AUTHOR: Lee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 10, 2004

In corporate life, especially, a "second" motion typically supports a "first" motion to affirm an opinion or decision. In the case of Rob Mcallister, above, I would "second" the motion that he is a solid, honorable professional and that Christi did not do her homework.

Rob helped my wife and I buy our first home with a difficult credit rating but an outstanding rate. To top it off, he did this under immense pressure. When I sat in his office the first time we met, he received at least 5 phone calls from other clients in less than 15 minutes and was dillegently working on both my loan and a pile of others on his desk, simultaneously. In our meetings following that first one, the scenario never differed.

A man that is sought out frequently and continually for his services is a man that is credible and capable. Striking out in anger because of your own lack of due dilligence is neither intelligent nor recommended. In fact, if Karma is a reality, Christi should be looking over her shoulder.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Rob McCallister is the most honest person in the industry

AUTHOR: Lee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 22, 2004

This message is for Christi.

Be careful of what you say to a loan officer, like Rob McCallister. He has a perfect reputation in the mortgage industry and receives infinite amount of repeat business. You, on the other hand, did not read the contract clearly with the LPO at the Escrow signing office. Rob got you into your new house without having to put a down payment. If a loan officer financed me into a home with zero closing costs, and bought me a lawn mower, I would thank him more than once than instead of spamming his name around like he is some kind of con-artist. I suggest you read the contract, or if you have a problem understanding what the contract says, ask the LPO at the Escrow company. If there was a mistake, talk to your mortgage company, not bad-mouth Rob. You would be very surprised of how many people like to do business with Rob. I used to work with Rob, and I now own a mortgage company, and I know that Rob's reputation has always been golden, but thanks to your "Kind words," that's borderline slander. Think twice of what you say in this small industry.

MISLEADING REPORT

AUTHOR: ROB - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 12, 2003

I DID A NON-CONFORMING LOAN FOR CHRISTI CLEVELAND IN SEPTEMBER OF 2000. THE LOAN SHE RECEIVED WAS A 2 YEAR ARM WITH A 2 YEAR PREPAYMENT PENALTY. SHE WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS AND IT WAS ALSO CLEARLY INDICATED IN HER CLOSING DOCUMENTS. SHE CALLED ME TO NOTIFY ME THAT SHE WAS TRYING TO REFINANCE WITH ANOTHER LENDER AFTER TWO YEARS. THE BANK HER LOAN WAS BROKERED TO HAD MISTAKENLY DOCUMENTED HER LOAN WITH A THREE YEAR PENALTY. ONCE I WAS NOTIFIED I CALLED THE LENDER (WHICH WAS NOT THE ORIGINAL LENDER)TO CLEAR UP THE ISSUE. I NOTIFIED CHRISTI IT WOULD TAKE A WEEK TO CLEAR UP THE ISSUE. HOWEVER, IT WAS A MISTAKE AND SHE WOULD NOT BE CHARGED THE PENALTY IF SHE WOULD BE PATIENT. SHE CLOSED ON HER REFINANCE THE NEXT DAY AND WAS CHARGED THE PENALTY. SHE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE DEPT OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS (DFI) ABOUT THE MATTER. I PROPERLY RESPONDED TO THE REQUESTS OF THE DFI WITH DOCUMENTATION WHICH CLEARED ME OF ANY WRONG DOING. CHRISTI WAS SIMPLY UNABLE TO GIVE ME THE NECESSARY TIME TO CLEAR UP HER PROBLEM. MY TOTOAL COMPENSATION ON HER LOAN WAS $1850. THIS IS A LOW COST FOR A ZERO DOWN LOAN WITH POOR CREDIT. TO TOP IT ALL OFF I PURCHASED HER A NEW LAWN MOWER AS A MOVE IN/ THANK YOU GIFT. THANK YOU CHRISTI FOR YOUR KIND WORDS FOR ME.
