Reservation Rewards - Shopper Discounts & Rewards Scammed into 'joining' their 'club' Shelton Connecticut

I was outraged when I noticed 2 $12.00 charges on my Visa card and had never heard of these companies. I think of my self as quite savvy when it comes to the internet, but I must have been having an off day that week.

The first thing I did was come to ripoffreport.com to see if others had been taken advantage of by this scam. I assumed it was the same company as it was the same charge on the same day from Connecticut. I read the many reports that had been written here and decided to call them myself rather than attempt to have my Credit Card company intervene at this stage. I was surprised to be told that I have 'signed up' for these services while buying cinema tickets from (((Redacted)))Buyer beware!

I then told the Customer service rep. that I was annoyed and confused as to how this could happen. She told me that she would cancel my membership. I told her that I had read numerous reports of this type of behavior from this company and that I would be going to Visa to have the payment stopped. She then told me that she would refund the charge and cancel the membership. I then mentioned the 'Shopper Discounts & Rewards' charge and after she feigned surprise, she refunded that charge and canceled that membership. All and all, I was quite pleased at the rapid attention paid to this and sure enough, 4 or 5 days later the charges had been refunded to my credit card.

So the squeaky wheel approached worked for me, but I still let her know (politely) that I was outraged and exasperated that this had happened.

She didn't seem that bothered about that part. :-s
