I ordered online from JC Whitney for my VW and have dealt with them since 1994, never having a problem with scams. I noticed while checking my credit card online that I was billed $1 from a company I had never heard of, WLI Reservation Rewards with their phone number. Since I didn't know where this came from and didn't want them to have my phone number too, I immediately called my credit card company, told them the story, cancelled the number and transferred my account history to another number, then called this company the next day from a payphone.

Well, after doing some research on this company I ended up at rip-off report.com and saw that many more people were getting screwed out of minimal amounts of money which added fuel to the fire. 1 million american's + 1.00 = $1 million so I kinda got SUPER mad as I am a "principle person".

I called WLI Reservation Rewards and ended up on the phone with the manager and found out where my credit card number had been received from JC Whitney. I also found out that they deal with many other companies on the internet like Lane Bryant for example. After getting my dollar back (which she said was for verification purposes to make sure the account was open and would be credited back) I explained why I was so upset to no avail. I never remember authorizing a membership or more importantly FOR MY CREDIT CARD TO BE USED by anyone but JC Whitney.

I then called JC Whitney afterward to ask them how they were associated with this company. She didn't even know what I was talking about until we did a threeway conference call online. Somewhere after ordering my automotive parts a new browser came up (I was told don't remember it) and I had to put my email address in twice to verify (I do remember).

Well guess what, I was verifying to give this WLI Reservation Rewards company my credit card number from JC Whitney for a membership. I don't remember seeing or verifying to give my credit card number to ANYONE but JC Whitney and I tried for about ten minutes to get across to the customer service representative that I was fundamentally upset.

I DID NOT physically MYSELF give WLI Reservation Rewards my credit card number, they got it from JC Whitney. Without ever answering my questions or acknowledging that JC Whitney did this I made it clear to her that I would no longer be a customer of their's and I would be telling everyone I know about this scam.

So moral of the story as paranoid and as careful as a person is, the bad companies will get you somehow, sometime. However, I will be looking into a lawsuit myself, just to give an attorney some firepower if he/she wants it because this company needs to be shut down for the good of society in my opinion.
