Reservations.com and Villas de Santa Fe Scams when making reservations-switching the consumer to websites not shown, taking $$ before confirmation of reservations, not showing on PAGE 1 that reservations are nonrefundable and credit card will be charged. Not allowing for an error even minutes later no matter what. FRAUD!!! Santa Fe, Internet/New Mexico

Be careful that you stay on your intended hotel's website. Somehow I was switched from Villas de Santa Fe.com to Reservations.com.  When I chose my dates for vacation on the first page on the website there was no mention that the entire charge (almost $1000) would be charged immediately and non refundable. Only when I selected 'Book' did I get to page 2 that informed me my credit card had been charged for the full amount and it was non-refundable!  I immediately tried to call the phone number given by reservations.com to complain and cancel the reservation.  I also immediately reported what happened to Capital One Mastercard who told me not to worry that they would take care of the charge.  Well, here it is 3 months later and many phone calls and proof of my transaction to them and my card has been charged for good. When I called Reservations.com immediately, there was no real person to talk to to explain the situation, only a electronic choice of menus none of which applied to my situation. So I e-mailed them and explained this was not right to charge without prior notification of the consumer.  They cancelled the reservation and as I requested and that was it. 

So, now Villas de Santa Fe will sell those dates again, no problem getting paid twice for that week.  I cannot stress enough how important it is to be careful what you are doing on the Internet.  I have cancelled my Mastercard with Capital One because they wouldn't work with me, and I think reservations.com is a crooked website intent on taking people's money no matter the situation.  Do not use either, and for goodness sake, never stay at Villas de Santa Fe!  No vacation this summer!
