Rec'd official looking documents and Check from Sprint for $3,934.00. Document asked me to go on their payroll as a "Mystery Shopper". The letter breaks down what I'm supposed to spend the money on, including sending a Money Gram (pay to the order to the frauds, I assume) for $3,500.00. The envelope comes from Canada, with the return address on a label reading "P O Box 547, MTL, QC H4M 1X3. I assume the frauds use this address in canada to avoid USPostal Fraud charges and to confuse Americans who think they can't find out info on Canadian addresses.

Check from Sprint looks totally legit, except that the word Void doesn't appear if you hold up to light. The check includes the security padlock on the reverse side + watermark warnings to verify authenticity.

Fraud Alert explained

AUTHOR: Jeanni - (Canada)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 17, 2012

I was looking for a job opportunity with this company and right there in BOLD letters it read scam alert

I then checked rip off report as I always do and found this report about a bad cheque.

I do not work for them but I did think sharing this might help..

FRAUD ALERT
Beware of the scam using the names of a legitimate U.S. or  Canadian mystery shopping company.  If you've never worked for RetailTrack, never completed an application to be a shopper, and never been interviewed or trained by RetailTrack - don't cash a cheque with our name on it! RetailTrack is also a victim

AUTHOR: Belding - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, February 20, 2009

I am the CEO of The Belding Group of Companies, which owns and operates the mystery shopping division, RetailTrack Mystery Shopping & Consulting. I cannot stress enough that our company is legitimate, and is in no way connected with the scams being conducted. Our good name, along with dozens of other reputable mystery shopping companies, is being used by criminals in this scam. Headlines, such as the one in this report, do great damage to us.
