Reunion Celebrations ripoff reunion cancelled due to hurricane in florida refunded only small part of money, very rude and unprofessional, were forced to refund what they did Tampa Florida

My 20th high school reunion was supposed to be held this year in August, in Bradenton Florida. It was "cancelled" due to hurricane Charley.

The reunion company did not call to inform me of the cancellation. I called the Hilton where it was to be held and they were the ones to tell me that there would be no activities as there was a mandatory evacutaion in effect.

After the hurricane moved through, i received phone calls from several friends saying that we were going to get together on our own at a club which was owned by one of my former school mate's father. We had a little "party", maybe 20 or so of us. We had to buy all our own drinks and food. The reunion company was supposed to be suppling all of this, 2 days worth of fun and food and drinks.

I was later informed by the reunion company after several of us tried to get our money back (I paid over $200 for 2 people to attend) that the company considered this to be our reunion although they had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with that night.

After much back and forth and several rude e-mails from SUNNYP@reunioncelebrations.com, i was informed that i would receive a partial refund. What i got weeks later, here in Ohio, was a check for $80 and written in the memo section was the phrase SATISFACTORY REFUND. I cashed the check begrudgingly and crossed out satisfactory and wrote unsatifactory as I know cashing the check is an action which solidifies the "agreement".

I just wanted everyone to be aware of this company and their unethical practices. We, my former classmates and I, have done all we can do to get the word out. Apparently the BBB has had reports to which they have not responded, typical right? This is how we can keep each other informed and look out for each other when the agencies designed to do that for us are not providing their services.
