I worked an event (2012 Global Citizen Awards Dinner for the Atlantic Council) on September 21st for 4 hours - $21/hr - for a total of $84.
I did not receive payment for this event as scheduled, and after repeated inquiries - including 11 emails and 2 phone calls - to RGI Principal & Founder Rachel Glaws, received no resolution or payment.

More nonsense from R.G.I.

"Drag out this matter"? Please. First off, I had to wait weeks to get any response from you regarding payment, already several weeks after the event itself. Once you felt that your company's reputation was on the line, you acted very quickly, but clearly this was only based on self-interest, not good business ethics. Your actions were neither swift nor amicable. I again refer to the other workers that night (and at other events) who experienced similar problems with R.G.I./Rachael Glaws. I hope you've cleaned up your act; otherwise, I hope you just go out of business ASAP.
And if we want to get technical, I dropped the matter ages ago. The only reason I'm "dragging this out" is because you decided to dredge this issue up a year later by posting a phony rebuttal on this site. If anything, I held my tongue this entire time for fear of (illlegal) retribution on your part, and you decided to stoke the fires for no reason other than to cover your own a*s.

RGI events & public relations stands by the information filed in our rebuttal statement regarding this matter - and will gladly upon direct request to vetted consumer groups or prospective clients provide full documentation supporting our statements.
We are sincerely disappointed and saddened that this individual has chosen to continue to drag out this matter over the course of two years, especially after RGI worked swiftly and amicably with this individual's council on a solution. A solution which his council suggested and this individual freely excepted. We had thought the matter closed, but decided, as is well within our right although perhaps foolishly upon outside advisement, to supply a statement to add to this record.
We wish Mr Samtur all the best with his current and future endevors, and regret wholeheartedly that this matter escalated to this unfortunate point.

Do not listen to a word this woman says.

If you ever have an offer to work for a woman named Rachael Glaws, or her company RGI, do not.
After repeated contact with other people who have attempted working for this woman and her company, I have realized that she is, in fact, renowned for not paying her employees. I have now heard 3 accounts verifying this information, and no one has been able to reach her for comment besides myself.
At no point did Rachael reach out, as she claimed, to tell me that I would only be paid for "actual" hours worked. I simply received false emails stating that "payment is on its way" - at no point in the process did she question my timesheet. She simply said that I would be paid soon, and after months of waiting, I told her I would be forced to "pursue further action", at which point she responded that she would no longer discuss these matters with me and I was unable to reach her.
The only reason she ever responded to my queries regarding lack of payment after this point was that I threatened legal action, at which point she attempted to manipulate and threaten me with false accusations that I was slandering her company, none of which was true. She then lied and claimed that she had sent me payment two times, which was simply untrue, and it was not until I posted on this website and several others that she claimed to want to come to an "amicable" conclusion. How convenient.
I ended up not cashing the check she sent me because she threatened to take unlawful legal action against me if I did not remove my (entirely true) posts on this and other complaint sites - posts which others have now responded to and agreed with. I acted out of fear, and decided to ignore the matter, but now, many many months later, she has decided to again attempt to defend her reputation, after it has been acknowledged by myself and several others that she is a scam artist in the truest sense of the word.
Ms. Glaws, if you stand by your name or have any respect for your brand or name, you will stop trying to cheat your workers out of their hard-earned money and then attempt to cover for your deceipt after the fact. I refuse to believe that I, and the others I have heard from who have worked for you, have coincidentally not received payment due to a fluke accounting error. If you are reading this, Google her name and you will see other complaints about her poor business practices.
Ms. Glaws, if you believed initially that I submitted a timesheet which accounted for a single hour more than you think I deserved (which is also false, because I stayed late at your event to help you - and you acknowledged this at the time), then you should have simply contacted me and attempted to discuss the alleged discrepansy, as opposed to lying to me that payment was forthcoming when you apparently had no intention of paying me anything. The point remains, no contract with you is valid if you simply do not pay your employees for hours rendered. You violated any terms of agreement we may have had when you refused payment, so at this point, I am more than happy to warn others of your deceipt so that no one else need go through what I went through.
Again, to those who are in contact with her, be they clients or workers, please refuse any professional relations with this woman. If you doubt my testimony, read the others who have stepped forward to commisserate with me on this very website. I'm sure there are even more who have not had the courage to speak out. But if you do, now is the time. This woman should not be in business.

The author of this report submitted an invoice to RGI events and public relations not reflective of the actual time worked. We require all staff to sign in and then sign out upon departure to verify the hours to be paid.
His statment that ' I did not receive payment for this event as scheduled, and after repeated inquiries - including 11 emails and 2 phone calls - to RGI Principal & Founder Rachel Glaws, received no resolution or payment.' - is incredibly misleading.
It's true - he did not recieve the payment he claimed he was owed - we notified him that he would be paid for the hours he actually worked. We responded to all of his calls and emails until he threatened the owner of the company. At which time he was told via email that we were not comfortable speaking with him directly any further and it would be best to let our council of record further hash out the matter.
His lawyer then spoke with RGI's lawyers and the owner of RGI and reached closure to this matter - where he was paid the proper amount for the time he actually worked at the event. RGI is more than happy to provide proof of any of all communications as well as cancelled check copies upon direct request.

Hi,
A friend of mine recently just dealt with RGI and I wish she had seen this before agreeing to work with Rachael. They (4 models) were promised $100 for a baby event and no one has been able to reach her since. Were you all able to resolve your payment issues, and if so, can you please pass along any advice that I can give to my friend and the other models. thanks!!

Hi Adam,
I worked right next to you at that event and too bad I didn't get your contact info that day. I am experiencing the same ordeal with RGI. Let me know how we could connect as I might have something useful to share.
