We reserved a houseboat, paid for plane tickets, bought food for our planned 2 day houseboat trip and arrived the day of New Year's Eve to be told that the boat had mechanical problems. She had not tried to reach us. We had to scramble to find available motel rooms - at great cost. She has said she will refund our money. No go. We are suing her in small claims court. It turns out she has scammed others in just the same way. A truly dishonest person who should have been put out of business long ago! Islamorada Florida

Do not rent a houseboat from Ricki at Florida Bay Adventure in Isladamorada, Florida.  She is a con artist of the first order.  We reserved a houseboat on the phone from  Ricki for New Year's Eve (2016-17) for 2 days.  We reserved it by phone. When I called to ask for a confirmation number, she said not to worry. She was as good as her word.  

We paid for roundtrip plane reservations to Miami from New York City, rented a car at noon in Miami, and paid for food for our intended boat trip.  When we arrived, Ricki said the boat had "mechanical" problems and couldn't go out.  She said she had tried to call us that morning (too late, we were already on the plane.  She said the number she called was disconnected.  A total lie.) We said, "there is no way on New Year's Eve that we will be able to find motel accomodations."  She said "sorry, nothing I can do."  We did manage to find 2 different rooms for both nights, very expensive.  On our way back to the Miami airport, we phoned Ricki and told her we intended to sue her.  She said, "Don't bother me!" 

We are suing in small claims court. In the process of putting together our claim, I she has scammed people constantly.  Four awards have already been made througoh the Better Business Bureau.
