United States of America Ridebikegear Misrepresented Hardbag and poor customer service Internet

I had purchased Ridebikegear's GA Series Hard Saddlebags for $140.  Upon receipt I noticed that there was no mounting system on the bag.  What I received was just the hard bag itself with a simplistic locking mechanism drilled into the cover; no mounting holes whatsoever.  They had supplied me a bag full of various bolts, spacers, and washers (but no nuts to fasten the bolts).  The implication was that I needed to drill holes into the hard bags and secure them to my bike using the supplied hardware.  When I contacted their customer service about the missing nuts, I received the following (verbatim) reply via email:

"I wouldn't even use that hardware. The hardware in the bag was meant for people purchase a very basic bracket system that we sold in the past, but don't sell anymore."

So to recap, the hard bags are not usable without drilling holes into them and they refuse to provide the minimum amount of hardware to properly mount it.

Their website states:
"The saddlebags can be mounted on any bike with side brackets.  If you require brackets, we suggest our Best Brackets saddlebag mounting system, which has a locking quick-release system and offers maximum adjustability to achieve a perfect fit."

However, what they have provided is not mountable by any means, since I am required to drill holes and their hardware to mount the bags is inadequate.  I am surprised they would not even send me a few nuts in the mail to but they blew me off immediately.

Still a misleading product nontheless

The hardware included was supposed to be adequate for mounting the bags and it wasn't.  I don't know what else you want me to say here.  I did in fact, read what was on the website, and the description said that adequate mounting hardware was included.  When I received the product the hardware was insufficient to properly mount the bags.  You simply stating "read the directions" does not change the facts or my experience with my order.

My first attempt at contacting them came several days later (via email) and it was full of spelling errors, like a teenager out of high school wrote it.  See above.  They acknowledge in that email that the hardware was erroneous and couldn't be used.  I don't know how much more inept they can be.  You stating that it was my reading error is not a rebuttal based off of facts.  That is a sort of slim-shady redirection of fault that only an unethical individual would attempt to pursue.

Understand what you are buying

In your complaint you wrote the following:

"Their website states: The saddlebags can be mounted on any bike with side brackets.  If you require brackets, we suggest our Best Brackets saddlebag mounting system, which has a locking quick-release system and offers maximum adjustability to achieve a perfect fit."

What that means is that the bags can be installed on any bike that has fender side brackets with the use of their Easy Bracket mounting system, which is sold separately. They do require drilling holes in the bags at your desired location in order to mount the brackets to the bag, depending on what location you want the bags to sit on your bike.

This is common with whatever make of hard bag you buy. Any mounting hardware they sent along would only be generic and you would be expected to try and use the existing mounting nuts or brackets that are currently on your bike because they have no way of knowing how you planned to mount the bags.
