I saw them on a gmail Ad that was most likely triggered because I was looking at an eFax.com email.  It had a great price.  I called.  Told them I was with eFax.com and their price was much better.

They Confirmed my number was portable and that it would take 5-6 weeks to port.

He quoted a much higher price.  I said, that's not the price on the ad.  He said, oh, you're lucky, you got that Ad,.. so you qualify for the promotional price.  (It's a freaking Google Ad!!  Everyone sees it!!)  I gave him my Amex and then he said, ok and I'm going to charge your card for... and he quotes that higher price!!  Again I correct him.

Then, despite confirming my number was portable, 3 weeks later, they said that eFax.com has a policy that they don't port numbers.

There is no way they didn't know that from the start!!  eFax.com is their main competition. I was targeted because I was with eFax.com.  And even if some how they didn't know this (not possible in my opinion), they checked and confirmed it was portable.  They said nothing about "Unless eFax.com doesn't let you."

I called and asked for a refund.  They said call eFax.com; they do it if you make a special request.  Sounded fishy but I called eFax.com.  eFax.com again declined. (Duh!)

I called again to ask for a refund.  They told me ok and that it was processed.  2 days later, no refund and then I get an email and a call from the Same Sales Rep telling me to call eFax.com to ask them to port the number.

They didn't reference that I had already called and asked eFax.com.  Didn't reference that I had canceled and asked for a refund.  Clearly this is the run around.  And they were hoping I'd get tired and let them walk away with the money.

Thankfully, I paid with Amex.  After about 3 hours of runaround from RingCentral, I called AMEX and in 5 minutes had my refund.  I LOVE AMEX!!
