Near 8 months ago I was assigned to Fort Polk LA. I returned to Fort Bragg and received a bill from Sprint that I promply paid. I was then sent to Iraq for the elections with the 2/325th AIR. I returned in March and was informed by my wife that a collection agency had been calling.

I then contacted Sprint who told me to get ahold of the Fort Polk South office which I did. I then spoke with a representative that told me due to Sprints billing habits that all the amount had not been added in my last bill and I still owed $28.12. Even though these seemed like unethical billing practices on Sprints behalf I paid the money anyway. For the next 3 months I have received upwards of 5 to 10 calls a day from RPM Sprint I have informed at a minimum 4 different individuals that the matter had been taken care of they have continued to call my home. On weekends, weekdays, morning and night. My wife has even explained that this matter has been taken care of.

I attempted to call the company to get a representatives name and adress and they refuse to give it. They will not let me talk to a supervisor and are very rude whenever they call. I have told them at least 5 times to stop calling here and now they call on Memorial Day.

I have attempted to report this company to the Better Business Beareu, but the company will not send there name or location and will not send out written correspondence. I belive that Sprint is ultimatly reponsible for this entire situation due to there poor billing management and management of organizations representing them. I for one will never use Sprint again. Please Help.

RPM Sprint Military Legal Channels

AUTHOR: Tina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 26, 2006

I am going to file an Inspector General Complaint regarding this company and would recommend that you do the same.

To better serve all of us that are victims of this harassment make sure that the Inspector General in the originating installation and the IG at your current installation are aware of this.

As you know installations will place businesses off limits for certain unethical or illegal practices.

Also, FYI, I was told that the Sprint Fort Polk Services are done through Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR). I plan to contact them in writing too.

RPM has refused to give a letter in writing and threatened me with suing me if I repeat that they haven't sent me a letter.

I feel that we need to work together to resolve this matter. I feel that they are discriminating against Military and Military Family Members and legal action should be brought against them.

An easy solution

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

Yvonne, you are puuting way to much effort into this.

All it takes is 1 letter called a cease communication order, and you send it by cerified mail with a return reciept request.

Then go to www.ftc.gov and bookmark the "file a complaint" page. File an online complaint every time they call. It takes all of 2 minutes to file the complaint and you get a confirmation you can print out.

Then you take the return reciept card, and copy it, attach copies of the FTC complaints and send a letter of complaint to your State Attorney general.

I do this same routine like clockwork and have gotten the most sleazy of collectors off my back immediately.

Also, while you were deployed the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act protected you from ANY collections action until 90 days AFTER you returned home from deployment.

Good Luck...

Been There and am Doing That

AUTHOR: Yvonne - (U.S.A.)

You are correct. This is RPM...Receivables Performance Management, LLC. They are located at 1930 22oth Street SE, Suite 101, Bothell, Washington 98021. I even have a tool-free number for them. No more of me calling long-distance to them...it's 1-866-212-7408.

They are a collection agency engaged by Sprint. It would take up WAY too much space to tell you my story...but suffice to say, they call my house 4-5 times a day AND call my mother's house at least that many. Whe she tells them that I have not lives at her house since 1985, they accuse her of lying and tell her she is really me. They are RUDE, NASTY, and like to hang up on your when you try to explain that you DON'T owe any money to Sprint. They call at all hours...I have even gotten them as late as 10 PM. When you ask to speak to a supervisor, they do not allow that and hang up on you. Most recently, I spoke with "Donte." I told him to stop calling me and he started rattling off that I am a deadbeat and that I should pay my bill. He then told me to pray before I call and that Jesus saves. That is unfortunate - because as a Christian, it offends even me that he would use his collection call to further harass me about religion.

These people will NOT listen to what you are saying. They have called me names and screamed at me. I have contacted Sprint - but they won't do anything at this point. (Again, long story) If anyone knows of a way to further report this company, please post. I WILL PARTICIPATE!

As far as Sprint, I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase ANYTHING from them again. Obviously Sprint, through THEIR ERROR (not mine**) got these people on my back. My calls to Sprint to try to get them to contact RPM so the harassment will stop has been futile. Too bad I don't live in Washington state, or these people would be getting a visit from me. I will post my story on every site that I can find regarding RPM and Sprint. If anyone can think of anything else we can do, please post!

** Sprint took MY payment and credited it to someone else's account. The bill was $36 and I paid it on May 2, 2005. Now the bill is up to $70 for fees, late charges, etc. Since Sprint didn't credit my account, they turned it over to RPM for collections. Sprint/RPM has ruined my credit due to THEIR mistake. Not mine. It is now nearing the end of October 2005 and this issue is STILL not resolved. (I've not had Sprint since April 2005).BTW: I am in Maryland.

JAG? Sprint is notorious for this kind of crap.

You should not have had to pay the $28 and change they said you owed. It is their problem if they have a bookkeeping issue.

If you are still in the Army... tootle on down to the JAG office. Explain the issue to them and see what they can do to help. There are times when they will not get involed in civil matters but you never know.

While your at it, file a complaint with the FTC. Forget about the BBB, they are as useful as ... well, you can figure that one out.

You can always tell them that they are no longer allowed to contact you. Send them a cease and desist letter. I would also pull credit reports and make sure these idiots didnt list it there.

If all else fails, take them to small claims court.

You're Army... get out the heavy artillery and go after them. A best defense is a strong offense.
