Toccoa, GeorgiaDirect TV placed my account for $265.00 with Allied Interstate Inc. a collection company which contacted me and said if I would pay them $200.00 they would settle the account. So I paid even though I did not agree with the amount I figured I would pay instead of letting it hurt my credit. Well I just found out last week when I had my finance manager at work pull my credit report, THAT THEY HAD NOT SETTLED BUT CHARGED OFF $65.00 to damage my credit score. The bad part is that was almost 5 years ago and I just found out last week. I have had a $65.00 charge off damaging my credit for the last 5 years and didn't even know it.
I cant find any way of settling this charge off, cant find a number for Allied Interstate Inc. Anyone with info. on how to contact this WONDERFUL company called Allied please send me some info.

Allied Interstate & IRMC Executive Contact Information
Allied is a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen since they routinely violate the provisions of the FDCPA and FCRA laws.
CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report.
Your situation is very common and unfortunately you sacrificed some of your rights as a consumer when you sent a payment to Allied. You should have first sent a written dispute and request for VALIDATION of the debt, which was your right under the FDCPA (if you had sent the request *in writing* within 30 days of the company's initial contact with you). If you had done this, Allied probably would have stopped bothering you and they would have been prohibited from reporting the debt to the credit bureaus.
At this point, you have at least three options: 1) wait another two years for the 7-year reporting period to run out (after which time the credit bureaus will not be able to report the debt); 2) dispute the debt with the credit bureaus and hope that Allied does not validate; 3) send one letter each week to EXECUTIVE-LEVEL EMPLOYEES at Allied and its parent company telling them that you dispute the way they are reporting the debt (this your right under the new FACTA requirements). Eventually, they may give in and remove the listing fromyour credit file.
Allied Interstate is one of several companies owned by IntelliRisk Management Corporation (IRMC), one of the largest collections companies in the U.S. Michael Kendall, Senior Vice President, is currently the big man in charge at Allied's Ford Road Office in Minneapolis. You should address your letters to him so that he will be personally accountable.
IRMC is now based in New York City (with many offices in other locations) and the address of the corporate office in New York is: 100 Park Avenue, 9th floor, New York, New York 10017. The General Counsel's name is Greg Harmer. When sending letters to Allied, be sure to also include Mr. Harmer (at the Park Ave. address) as one of the addressees.
