These people called me offering EXCEPTIONAL healthcare and told me they were underwritten by AEtna. They took my money PRIOR to me being able to examine the policy. I have yet to see a refund in my account. BEWARE! They are not health insurance.

adova-it gets worse,much worse.

AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 20, 2006

I put in a claim under the hospital indemnity portion of the Adova plan. The claim was for 25 days. The representatives name was Sander. He was friendly ut didn't seem to return phone calls. What he did do however wass see to it that the claim was processed. When I recieved my benefit check it was for 17 days instead of 25. It was paid through UGP. I called UGP for about 10 days without being able to talk to anyone who knew about the claim. Finaly I found out that I would get no answers from them becaue they processed the claim on a one time basis.

While all this was going on there was a billing problem that seemed totaly unrelated at the time.I talked to Kim at 888-328-2551 ext 100 about my credit card billing. She is a very nice lady who tries very hard to be helpful. She told me that my may billing didn't go through on my credit card and she had tried numerous times to call me without success. She had my phone # wrong. This was strange because Adova had called me before on my right # with no problem. Also my credit card company had no record of the billing being denied. I gave her another credit card # and stayed on the line while the charge was authorized. I called her again the next month (after I recieved the check for 17 days ending 5/1/06. she told me that she couldn't understand what the problem was. The computer would not let her put my billing in for for automatic monthly billing.

It seems that the powers that be at Adova decided that they would just make it impossible for me to pay my premiums therefore lapsing my policy for non payment.

I have not been able to get a reason from Sander for their actions. I will keep you informed of any actions by Adova or by myself.

At this point I plan to put in a fraud report with the N.J. dept. of insurance as well as the attorney generals office.

If anyone has any other suggestions I'd welcome them.

I'd also welcome an explanation from Anthony at Adova with the reasoning behind the actions of his company.

My advice to anyone considering buying a plan such as this is stay away from Adova and Security Family Council (one and the same). THere are a number of honest and reputable companies out there. why do business with this one.

I have talked to John Byers and he has made many statements to me that have turned out to be untrue and deceptive. He has resorted to hireing legal council against me. He has also threatened me with legal actions. But the one thing he has never done is show proof that he has or ever had the hospital insurance he describes on his web site. I've reported them to the california dept of insurance. I hope all other victims do the same in there states. Curt Widen (vp of marketing from Star HRG ins. co.)has informed me today that his lawyers are trying to contact Adovas lawyers. Do not believe John Byers, from my experience with him I have found him to be a dishonest Broker.

The Family Security Coucil NEVER follows up on information requests. I have been trying to find out what insurance company underwrites the in hospital benefit from them.As of yet Jonh Byars has ignored my requests.Their web site used to advertise that it was underwriten by Chesepeake.I contacted Chesepeake and was told that they never heard of them.

The membership kit they send out states that you are joining the "Health Care Containment Association". According to Sam Shatz at that association it's simply not true. They were approached by John Byars od Family Security Council but decided not to have anything to do with them.

They are under investigation by at least one state insurance dept and last I heard were not being all than forthcoming.

My advice is if you see the words "Adova" or Family Security Council" keep looking. It will save you headaches when you can least afford them. This advice also goes for the "Design Savers Plan" that recently switched over to "Family Security Council"
