Our loan was sold to Ocwen and our problems began in December. With all the Christmas rush we did not check our account and find that our check in which we called in was not posted and we were put in default on January 3rd of this year even though our January payment was not due.

When we called we got the runaround and talked to several people and got no satisfaction as to why someone never posted the check.Even when I had the persons name and the date when I called the check in, in December, noone seemed to know that person.

We were told we had to pay the lawyers cost of $95 plus late charge and they would set our payments of $580.00 for three months to catch us up. We gave them another check by phone. It was never posted and the last week of January we called again, and voila...no check posted.

We set up again to make 4 payments of 555.00 for 4 months and gave them another check and they in turn told us to call our bank and stop payment on the $580.00 check in which we did. Both checks went through the next day but the 580.00 check was stopped and returned to Ocwen.

We called them and let them know and they told us they still did not have a record of the $580.00 check so I made a copy and sent it with our February payment. They in turn sent us a bill for a returned check.

In March I found this web site and I knew that I had better find someone else to finance our house due to others like me having the same problem. We just signed our papers with another company even with a lower interest rate.

We may have lost some money due to this but we still have our house. I'm sure this is not over yet as we are getting letters from Ocwen saying we don't have homeowners insurance but we do and we are informing the lawyer of everything they are sending to us and have also showed this web site to our lawyer handling our refinance.

Our credit rating is not good at all due to bankruptcy 5 years ago, but there is always another company who is willing to take the chance to help people like us. I suggest everyone get out from under Ocwen Federal Bank and lets put them out of business!
