Waldron, ArkansasBobby G Richardson of Mississippi has been online for years offering a $10,000 reward for a religious challenge. I am not going to address the religious aspect of this challenge because that is not the purpose of the Rip Off Report. First off I want to say that Mr Richardson does not specify in any of the web pages I have seen exactly what the $10,000 is.
Is it monopoly money, cash, check, money order or a coin collection? He never says. He also never provides any proof that he has $10,000 dollars. When somebody decides to answer his challenge he quickly plays the shell game and trys to get them to forget the $10,000 challenge and sends them more than 70 questions in an email and than when they respond to them he edits their responses and contact information.
What a sham. Also Mr Richardson claims that he is a non denominational layman yet a check on the domain impact-ministry shows it's registrant to be The United Pentecostal Church of Kissamee, Florida. That is quite odd for a non denominationalist to be using that domain isn't it? I advise all those people that see Bobby Richardson's sham challenge to ignore it. The only 10,000 that will be seen is ego points for him. I harbor no animosity for this man at all. I just feel that people should be notified of this scheme. Thank you.

Error correction on the $10,000 reward
The author avoids the conditions for the $10,000 rewards here is an exerpt from the website for the conditions.
$10,000 Reward:
Offered to anyone who can find ONE scripture in the authorized King James Version of the Holy Bible TEXT:
(1) with the word 'trinity' in it;
(2) where the term 'persons' (plural) was ever used to describe God or the Godhead; OR
(3) where anyone was ever baptized with the TITLES 'Father, Son and Holy Ghost' pronounced over them. (These 'titles' are quoted by virtually every religious denomination today among BOTH Catholic and Protestants, regardless of whether they baptize by sprinkling or by immersion).
If you would like to inquire, discuss or debate this then Lets Start Here
Here is the website address for the rewards site
http://www.impact-ministry.com/acts2/reward.html
As an independent student of the bible, I find the challenge and reward totally acceptable, for NONE of the three conditions are listed in the bible. If so I would be definitely interested. I have read my KJV for over 23 years and find no mention of the word trinity, persons (for God), or anyone baptized Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
I believe the reporter for this socall scam is either religiously upset or anti religious. As such the website authors should investigate the allegations made, and take corrective action = delete this report or file suit against Bobby.
How was this 'anti-religious' conclusion drawn?
Gordon writes:
'I believe the reporter for this socall scam is either religiously upset or anti religious.'
Ummm, Gordon, exactly how do you draw that conclusion? In reading the original post, it would seem to imply that the OP found a place in the Bible that met the challenge, and was not adequately responded to by Bobby Richardson.
This is what the OP wrote:
'When somebody decides to answer his challenge he quickly plays the shell game and trys to get them to forget the $10,000 challenge and sends them more than 70 questions in an email and than when they respond to them he edits their responses and contact information.'
'When somebody decides to answer his challenge'. I'm not drawing the assumption that the OP is personally endorsing the existence of the Trinity, just that he apparently found mention of it, and the challenge is TO FIND ONE SCRIPTURE that references the Trinity, in one of the three ways you noted.
The OP doesn't present his own view on the validity of the Trinity. This makes sense, since the challenge isn't regarding a person's belief in it, but to find a passage that mentions it, and the OP does seem to be saying that he did meet this challenge.
The post written doesn't sound upset or hostile, in any way. Indeed, he states he bears no animosity towards Bobby Richardson, and there's nothing written that is defamatory towards Bobby Richardson that I can read. The post was written in a clear and informative manner, which is more than can be said for some posts that provide only the fact that the person feels ripped off, but doesn't explain, in any way, why.
Is it that the OP believes a passage was found, in defiance of Bobby Richardson's challenge, that makes him “anti-religious"? Is it that you feel that finding such a passage makes a person anti-religious because the religion you subscribe to does not believe in the Trinity, and anyone who does, or who finds “evidence“ of it, is therefore “anti-religious“?
As for the OP being “religiously upset", in finding a passage that refutes a claim by Bobby Richardson, this makes no sense. If the OP IS a believer in the Trinity, he would not be upset at finding this proof. If he isn't a believer in it, why would he be upset at finding a passage that could earn him $10,000? He writes NOTHING that indicates his belief, either way. If he is, indeed, upset at finding the Bible referencing the Trinity, he still didn't write a single sentence indicating that.
I truly cannot fathom how you could get from this report that the writer is either religiously upset or anti-religious. I don't see how the OP could have been more circumspect about leaving his own beliefs out of the situation.

Bobby G. Richardson responds
My Reward could be for 10 BILLION DOLLARS. I just make it $ 10,000 to make it more of an eye catcher. And, I give my reason for the reward on the web page, itself ...
Since 1986 I have been offering a $10,000.00 REWARD to any priest, clergyman, layman or 'professing' Christian in an effort to provoke serious, but 'independent' Bible study and research.
Here's the reward and the web page ...
impact-ministry.com/acts2/reward.html
$10,000 Reward:
Offered to anyone who can find ONE scripture in the authorized King James Version of the Holy Bible TEXT:
(1) with the word 'trinity' in it;
(2) where the term 'persons' (plural) was ever used to describe God or the Godhead; OR
(3) where anyone was ever baptized with the TITLES 'Father, Son and Holy Ghost' pronounced over them. (These 'titles' are quoted by virtually every religious denomination today among BOTH Catholic and Protestants, regardless of whether they baptize by sprinkling or by immersion).
At any rate, the information specified CANNOT be found in the original authorized King James Version of the Bible Text.
I am a non-denominational layman, NOT a preacher, pastor or evangelist. I lived in Florida for 15 years. During that time I attended several different churches. One of them was the First United Pentecostal Church of Kissimmee. Also, during that time the pastor and I mutually decided to purchase the impact-ministry.com domain and share the expenses with the church paying half and me paying the other half. And, another person not affiliated with the church constructed the web pages for us.
However, since that time I moved to Mississippi, and have assumed all of the on-going expenses, and have taken over the impact-ministry.com domain, personally. The pastor and myself and still very good friends. And, when I left, I left on good terms. Therefore, I chose to leave the Kissimmee church's web page intact, just as it had been all along.
By the way, the church I attend in Mississippi is not affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church. And, to be honest with you, I resent the accusation that a non-denominational layman can't be affiliated with a church of his or her choosing, or if they do ... and it happens to be a denominational church ... then, they are some how being misleading or dishonest.
I would really like to know who my accuser is because I have reason to believe that his false allegation qualifies for slander ...
When somebody decides to answer his challenge he quickly plays the shell game and trys to get them to forget the $10,000 challenge and sends them more than 70 questions in an email and than when they respond to them he edits their responses and contact information.
Rebuttal: I don't play shell games and try to get someone to forget the reward. I do my very best to get them to provide the book, chapter and verse which contains the information that would meet the criteria of the reward provisions. The Reward is very clearly spelled out, and should be easy to understand by anyone with minimal education. There are 50 or 75 people who have contacted me, requesting to receive copies of Bible discussions/debates that I am involved with from time to time. And, the way I do that is to remove the email addresses and other information that would violate anyone's privacy. Then, I email it to myself and blind carbon copy it to those in the 'open forum'.
They, in turn, are encouraged to comment, critique, criticize or what ever. And, sometimes there are those in this open forum who agree with an opponent of mine. The bottom line is, I haven't set up a cheering section. Nor do I 'advertise' web sites, books or other things for opponents with whom I disagree. But, I do not edit their responses to change their subject matter. My feelings are that they can do their own advertising and start their own forum just like I did. At any rate, that is the extent of my editing of any responses.
I would appreciate it very much if my rebuttal is placed on your site and the contact information provided to me for the person who filed this 'consumer complaint' against me.
For your information I have listed my web pages below. Thank you ... and God bless!
