Louisville, KYIn March of 2000, we purchased a home security system from SecurityLink. It was purchased through a servicing company called United Security Systems in Louisville, KY. Since it was installed, the systems has not worked. It has given off false alarms several times. The first time it did this we were told to contact our servicing company for any problems and they would fix it.
They came out to our home and reinstalled parts. This was in April of 2000. We have received a letter from our police department stating our home will no longer receive services due to these false alarms. Since then, we tried not to use the system at all. In August of 2000, the systems gave false alarms again. We tried to contact United Security Systems (servicing company), they have gone out of business and we cannot reach the sales person who sold us the system. His home number and cell number are disconnected also.
We have tried to contact SecurityLink, which is what our product is. They have NOT given us any information to go about correcting the problem. We have been paying $35 a month for this system that we cannot use because of faulty materials. SecurityLink has told us they have not record of any repairs we had to have done in the past and they would charge us if a repairman would have to be sent out. When we originally signed the contract for this system, the salesman had wrote on it that we have a one year free repair, service contract. But, SecurityLink will not honor this saying it is the servicing company's responsibility (but the servicing co. is out of business).
We have a three year contract with SecurityLink for monitoring services. I don't feel we should have to pay for something we are not receiving due to this faulty equipment (which no one seems to care to fix).
SecurityLink does not seem to want to help us at all with this problem. We just want the system out our home and the contract terminated!!
