houston, TexasI sent my payment to Providian by Bill Pay since the postal service has had problems with anthrax and hold ups in delivering mail. My payment due date is on the thrid of the month.
My payment was received on the 3rd of this month Nov-2001 and wasnt posted till the 4th then I was charged a $38.00 late fee. On the 5th.
I called providian and said that even if their posts took 3 months to process it has to show being received on the 3rd which was on my bill.
FUSA - First USA just lost a class action Global suit for this very thing happening. I refused to let these people charge me a late fee, and now they chnged the due dates and added more fess to my account.
To me I request a class action for Deception and fraud of monies and the OCC and FTC to investiagte.
The payment was received in and on the due date and has to show received on the 3rd not when ever these people feel like processing the payments

Bill Pay is not providian
Just to let you know...Bill Pay is not part of Providian. Bill pay is an advertisment on the Getsmart.com website. And when you click it, it tells you that you have left to providian website.
And that company even as a highlighted area that states 'Click here for Getsmart Visa Cardholders' that sends them back to the Getsmart/Providian webpage. If you didn't read... well that's you own fault buddy.

Let's set the record straight:
First, the above Rebuttal was written by Providian trying to cover their asses. Keep that in mind as you read the comments. They tried to discredit several Providian complaints, but we are contacting them to let them know that there is a limit to the number of free responses allowed per day.
Getsmart Visa is a service of Providian. So is Bill Pay. It is NOT an advertisement. The above is an attempt to diffuse this issue by an employee by providing misinformation.
Just because you leave one website does not mean the website you enter is not also affiliated, as is the case here.
