I placed my Reefer 53' trailer to be sold at the Ritchie bros auction located in Longmont, CO for the auction held on August 4th, 2016. The trailer was auctioned off and I watched as an online bidder purchased the trailer for $10,000 USD that Thursday. The next day (08/05/2016) I received an email with the summary of the sale stating the unit sold for $0.00. When I checked the email it was already to late to contact the auction as it was late on a Friday, so I called on Monday August 8th to see what happened and the first lady indicated she saw the same thing and transferred me to Brittany in customer service which told me she would research the issue and call me back. Once Brittany called me back she advised me the seller made a mistake and didn't mean to purchase my equipment and therefore retracted his bid, which is cleary stated on Ricthie Bros website that for no reason can an online bidder withdraw a bid, so how was this possible? So I was advised to contact my account representative Travis which conveniently is on vacation and his boss is also unavailable. So I contacted the location again and was transferred yet to another lady that said this perticular buyer was a no deposit required buyer and that there was no damages available to me for the huge inconvenience this has caused my company. So as of now I have heard multiple apologies and my trailer is sitting at Ritchie bros in Longmont, CO and as the seller I am the only one paying the price for nothing I did wrong and I want damages due to me for the breach of contract.

So after speaking with my account manager I was advised the buyer had "ACCIDENTALLY" inserted $10,000 when he meant to bid $1,000 instead, Ritchie Bros advised they didn't think the trailer would bring that much money and agreed to give me $4,000 for the trailer in the meantime and they will try to sell it the next auction date as they looked at the trailer that sold before and after to determine what it would probably sell for. I am just ready for this to be over and I appreciate Ritchie Bros for atleast trying to correct the situation as much as possible even though its $6,000 difference.
