On December 23, 2009 I ordered a Nikon camera from RitzCamera.Com.

I paid the $33.00 overnight shipping fee. Expecting to receive the camera

on December 24th, 2009. I did not receive it. I called December 24th to

inquire where the camera was. I was told that it would arrive December 28th.

I asked them to CANCEL the order. They did. They pulled the order back from FedEx. I never received the camera. My credit card was still charged $1300+.

In January I received a refund from Ritz for $1100+, more accurately, $236.00 less than what I paid. I disputed this with American Express. They were no help whatsoever, in fact they cited as evidence to support Ritz, the wrong clause in the website. This is the CORRECT one:

Cancel an order

Due to our commitment to process orders quickly, there is a short period of time in which you may cancel your order. You may choose to cancel your entire order or a portion of your order as long as the order has not yet been sent to our warehouse for fulfillment. Once the order has been sent to our warehouse for fulfillment, we can request cancellation, however, should your order/item(s) ship, simply REFUSE delivery, and when the merchandise is returned to us a refund will be initiated.

No RESTOCKING FEE is mentioned. And none should be paid because I never received the camera. So in fact, RitzCamera got a brand new camera to sell as new and I got a $236 charge for nothing.

This IS a rip-off.

I will not stop writing about RitzCamera, on every website I can find, until I receive satisfaction. That is, a full refund.

I filed this referenced report on January 15th, 2010. Since then I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau of New York and the Consumer Protection Board of New York. On January 21, 2010 I received notice by email that Ritz Camera was refunding my credit card. I am satisfied now. I am only disappointed that it took them so long. I think it only fair to report that they did refund my credit card.
