I got a puppy from reiver hill boxers ,he has Demodectic mange, also called "demodicosis," is caused by a microscopic mite of the Demodex genus. Three species of Demodex mites have been identified in dogs: Demodex canis, Demodex gatoi, and Demodex injai. The most common mite of demodectic mange is Demodex canis.

All dogs raised normally by their mothers possess this mite as mites are transferred from mother to pup via cuddling during the first few days of life. Most dogs live in harmony with their mites, never suffering any consequences from being parasitized. If, however, conditions change to upset the natural equilibrium (such as some kind of  suppression of the dog's immune system), the Demodex mites may "gain the upper hand." The mites proliferate and can cause serious skin disease. Which was sired by a stud dog nmaed Linclon which is Picture Perfect Back N Black ,this is a Demodex mites (mange) is a bad immune system which can be passed genetically to any offspring. [continued below]....
..... REMEMBER, this warrants spaying or neutering of the pet and making sure it does not contribute to future generations of immunologically-disabled pets.It was pass on by the sire ,I have spoke to the breeder who sold River Hills Boxers this stud and he told me they was warnied he carried it in his bloodline and offered to buy him back ,after he found out all his litter mates cone down with it ,Riveer Hills will not help with vet bills ,and it has cost me hundreds of dollors to get this puppy treated ,do not buy a puppy from them ,I should have seen the red flag they do not have no pedigrees of their dogs up ,and pay now ,run from this breeder ,don't trust nothing they say.

I wish I had done more research before I bought from them.

False Accusation - Happy Owner of Riverhill Boxers

AUTHOR: Janie and Bruce in WV - (USA)

Obviously anyone can post anything on the internet be it true or false.  We know this post is obviously a false accusation.  How do we know this accusation is false and, in fact, as far from the truth as you can get?  We know because we are very happy and proud owners of not only one, but two very healthy boxers that we purchased from Riverhill Boxers.

We first purchased Dynamite who is sired by Lincoln AKA Picture Perfect Back N Black in June of 2012.  Lincoln is the sir that this false accusation references.  Dynamite is in great health and is the most loveable-sweet natured dog we have ever been around.  He has brought a tremendous amount of joy, love and laughter into our lives.

We decided to purchase a mate for Dynamite, so of course, because we have been so happy with our first purchase from Riverhill Boxers, we watched the Riverhill website for the perfect little girlfriend for him.  We purchased Lacey in January 2013.  She is not from the same line for breading purposes.  She is also very healthy and lovable.  We are extremely happy to have them both.

You can tell that Betty and Tracey Neal love their dogs because of how healthy and affectionate both of our puppies were when we received them.  Because of the distance from our home, we had both dogs flown in.  We werent happy about flying them in, but because of our schedules we didnt have a choice.  In both cases, when we received our babys, before we could get the tie wraps off the cage doors they were licking our fingers through the slots in the cages.  They both snuggled up to me and gave me about a million kisses on the 90 mile drive home form the airport.
Extremely loveable and healthy dogs have been our experience with Riverhill Boxers.

Its sad that someone could post such falsehoods about the quality of the boxers that Betty and Tracey raise.  I would suspect a jealous competitor or someone that they turned down for ownership posted this information.
I have never given credence to this website because of its very nature of anonymous-defamatory post that liter the site.  In my opinion anyone with a legitimate complaint would have the courage to state their name.  Cowards and liars hide behind anonymous post.  After all, how can you say this person has never done business with me or this person is simply a jealous competitor if there cowardly post is anonymous?

I hope that anyone reading our post realizes that if they shy away from purchasing one of the Riverhill Boxers wonderful, lovable and healthy boxers, than you will be missing out on many years of joy, laughter, love and happiness.

We love our AWESOME, lovable natured, very healthy boxers.  We are extremely happy to have our babys from Riverhill Boxers.  We cant express enough in this message the great amount of love and how much joy our boxers from Riverhill have brought to our lives.  Our motto is only the best and that is the quality of boxers you will get from Tracey and Betty at Riverhill Boxers.

Reports on RiverHills Boxers Not True!

AUTHOR: Tazmaniandevil - (United States of America)

I recently bought a puppy from Riverhills Boxers.  The complaint posted about RiverHills boxers being sick and full of mange is a lie.  The picture posted in complaint is copied and pasted from another website.  I clicked on link and found it to be the exact same photo.

I researched Riverhill boxers before buying female reverse brindle akc boxer puppy from them last week.  She came with copies of her parents pedigree  and all health records.  Lincoln, the boxer listed in the complaint as having mange, is our new puppies sire.  The puppy I picked upe is 100% healthy and completely free of any mange or parasites.  Lincoln does not carry or has ever had mange.

The report complaining about Riverhills Boxers and calling the owners negligent is libel and defaming their character.  Our vet looked at the puppy and gave her a clean bill of health as well.  She does not carry mange either.  The person who posted the lies about Riverhills Boxers should be ashamed of themselves

#7 Consumer Suggestion

Demodectic Mange

AUTHOR: Gravestown Boxers, Michael H. Grave - (United States of America)

I normally do not respond to such reports because 99% are bogus and/or factually incorrect.  Most of these reports are posted in a way to try to damage an individual or business with hopes of ruining the reputation of the "said" that it is posted about.  Recently, I had a ripoff report made on me and Gravestown Boxers and I refuse to even respond because their is no merit to any of it being of truth.  Like I mentioned, I do not find much merit in these types of reports because they are made by individuals that are not crediable individuals and show that they do not have anything better to do other than try to bring others down to their level by trying to damage the reputations of innocent people by their vicious attacks that hold no factual merit.

Having said that, I would like to make a brief comment to this post.

Yes, several years ago, I purchased two bitches from either the same litter or a repeat breeding that "Lincoln" came out of.  I kept both bitches until they reached two years of age.  One of the bitches broke with Demodex often and the other b***h never did.  The b***h that never broke with Demodex was placed in a pet home because of a very bad underbite.  I placed both bitches into the same pet home having never been breed or shown.

I can not be certain of which side of the pedigree in the sire and dam that the Demodex came from and will not jump to conclusions in assuming that it came from the sire's pedigree or the dam because it would only be hearsay.

What I do know is that you may have a sire or dam of a litter that may be a carrier of Demodex but only pass down the gene to a portion of a litter or the entire litter.  We just don't know until their are signs of it.  For example; you may have a litter of 8.  3 in the litter may be carries of the gene and the rest of the litter may be fine.  We just don't know.  In my case, I had one b***h that had a terrible problem with Demodex and the other b***h that never had problems with it.  In an overwhelming number of cases, you are going to know if a dog has demodex during the puppy stage but if the dog reaches 1 year of age, more than likely the dog will never have problems with demodex.

In the defense of River Hill Boxers, I would suggest that if by reading this report that may not hold truth or factual merit, I would contact this breeder and speak with them.  I would suggest to River Hill Boxers that if anyone holds this in question, offer to let the potential puppy buyer to contact your vet and allow your vet to discuss any questions about Lincoln and his health record.  I would also suggest that River Hill Boxers also provide refferences of previous puppy buyers and allow the potential puppy buyer to contact the previous puppy buyer.

I have spoken to both the original owner of this dog as well as current owner and I have the understanding that "Lincoln" has never shown signs of Demodex just as one of my bitches never showed signs of it.

Before trashing someone on here, get the facts!  Speak to the vet!  Speak to previous puppy buyers!

I hope this sheads some light on all involved!

If you go to the sunchase boxers website and click on the Tulsa rescue page, the picture you posted is also on that site, along with another picture of the same dog. It says they were brought in December of 1996....?

Not true.

AUTHOR: Ashley - (United States of America)

I bought a puppy from the exact same litter (listed as "Buddy" on website at the time). He turned 1 December 21st and has none of these problems. He is a healthy, hyper, and active pup (as you can see).

After reading this, I googled "demodectic mange boxer" and this exact picture came up on the first result page. It linked to a dog chat website and under the picture it says "picture courtesy of Tulsa Boxer Rescue" with a link to that website. I don't know when this picture was added to the rescue site, but everything I see on the site was updated in 2010 (long before this litter was born). Even if this puppy was rescued by this group, that puppy looks no older than 3 months. If it was from this litter, the puppy would be over a year old now. I don't know too many people that would wait over 7 months to post this if they were that unahppy and out that much money. Also, your post say you are from New York...which is a good distance from Tulsa.

I hope anyone taking the time researching the breeder (which is definitely a good thing to do), also takes the time to research each post! I made sure I researched this post to make sure my baby is healthy and safe :)
