I bought a Cummins engine from a company by the name of RJ Performance.  Was sold to me as reman.  I had to pay for it with a credit card. Had to fill out a form and fax it back to them.
The engine arrived a month late and when it did arrive it was a "pull out" from a wreck. It was painted to look good. However the oil was dirty, the fuel filter housing was dirty inside with an old filter.

When I contacted him from our Montana location he made all kinds of excuses, promised me a new engine, promises, promises and more promises over the next month. None of them he delivered on.

Guys like this have a bunch of names, crook, shyster, unscrupulous, liar all come to mind.

We got his junk engine rebuilt at cost of $4500 for a total cost of $10000.  Should have just bought an engine locally and would have saved a lot of time and money putting up with this guys crap.

I just want everyone out there who searches RJ Perfromance or its reincarnation Diesel Engine Export to know that this company is a one man internet broker of junk yard products.  You are way better off to deal with a big junk yard company like LKQ or someone like that if you want used parts. At least they tell you what you are buying.

I need to repeat the fact that Diesel Engine Export is just a reincarnation of RJ Performance and after my rip off I have done the following investigation for my own interest. It might interest anyone that is in the market for a diesel engine off the internet.

RJ Performance Ltd used to have a slick website showing all kinds of products and locations around North America.  John Campbell AKA Johnathan Campbell, Johny Campbell has run this operation for a number of years.  He is a con man, RJ never had these locations, they were all figments of his imagination to try to impress and rip off customers. While in both California and Ohio on business I went to both of the locations that were listed as part of the RJ empire.  The one in Cleveland was a junk yard and the one in California was a company that rebuilt brake boosters.  When asked both companies said they had sold some surplus used products to RJ Performance. When I said that they were listed as offices for RJ Performance they laughed!!!

One only has to google rj performance calgary and you will find all kinds of his hype.  "major expansion plans" etc etc. Now the RJ Performance website is down the phones diconnected. It has been replaced by wwwdieselengineexport.com.

One only needs to look at this site and click on the "About Us" button. Look at the warranty for the Cat and Cummins engine.  NO LABOR. Further it says that "warranty obtained from any OE dealer"  I called both Cat and Cummins and they both told me if it is their reman engine they carry both parts and labor warranty. However they have no association with Diesel Engine Export and do not sell engines through them.  If you look closely at this warranty it really is just a bunch of slick sales talk that ultimately indemnifies Diesel Engine Export of any liability and you are on your own with their JUNK!!

For the hell of it last fall while I was in Calgary I went to the address listed.  There is a sign on the front door of a race car company saying "RJ Performance upstairs through the door on the north side of the building"

I went up the stairs there was one single person who introduced himself as John along with a little yapping dog.

I confronted him about my problem engine and he slickly went on to tell me all his problems and the problems with his supplier telling me that he would take care of me next time. The phone rang a couple of times while I was there and John answered it.  The same slick sales presentation to the people on the other end.  My warehouse in Texas, My sales reps, My service techs.  My My My all a bunch of BS!!!

Ripoff report has a long string of complaints about Johnathan Campbell and his companies unscrupulous business ethics.

The long and short is RJ Performance and now Diesel Engine Export is a nothing company run buy Johnathan Campbell. A company run out of an upstairs rented 300 sq ft office in Calgary. He operates in Canada so he can rip off mostly Americans who neither have the means, the time or the legal moxie to pursue this crook.  All this company owns is a couple of desks and maybe a couple of phones. 

Johnathan  sites there all day and when he is not on the phone trying to stroke someone he spends all kinds of time to write press releases and other BS about his company sending it to whoever will print them about his companies qualifications, goals etc.

The moral of the story and it has been something people should always consider when dealing with a company found on the internet.  If it is sounds real good and the price is great be very very cautious.
