The end of September we checked the charges on our credit card statement and noticed a charge from RoadRunner VIP Club for the amount of $24.99. The phone number listed was 800-901-9207 which I called to determine what the charges were. The automated system said "if you are calling about a charge on your credit card it is for VIP Club membership renewal". Having never enrolled for a VIP Club I requested to speak to a representative. After waiting approx. 10 minuted the person who answered provided NO help. I explained the questionable charges and she asked my name. Not finding my name in the files they asked for my credit card number which I declined. She then asked for my phone number which I provided but they still had no account to connect to and again asked for my credit card number to track the charges. The representative was very insistent on getting our credit card number in order to trace the charge even though the did not have our name, phone number or address. She stated "we already have your credit card number or we couldn't have charged you but if you don't want to give me the number we can't cancel the charge". Sound fishy to you???? I ended the call with no resolution and instead took the issue to our credit card company to challenge the charge. I will also be filing a complaint with the State Attorney General in Calif. as well as the BBB. Watch out for this scam!
