My significant other and I was excited to get approved to participate in the CDL training offered at Roadmaster Driving School which is located a short ride from our home.  The program is a four week class, under normal conditions and cost 4,995 dollars, cash price only.  Once all your documents are submitted the essential part of the program is the ability to pay.

After being in class for a week with permit in hand we all were called to the bussiness office to sign our financial papers which was a increase in payment of 2,000 dollars making the now cost 6,995 plus the cost of hotel estimated 1,000 with an 18% apr.  Information not related to individuals during intake. Bringing the total cost to 11,000 to 12,000 dollars for most. Some students quit due to the conflict.  For a class of 10-17 students weekly they are making a killing off of individuals that are looking to change their financial situation. The school guarantee job placement and proper cdl training.  This is where the craziness begins.

Not only did I have to secure my own job placement which was a prehire agreement from a well known company I also had to advocate to my significant other. He had difficulties learning the manual transmission and Roadmaster administration staff strongly urges students not to go automatic.  One of the reasons they do so is because they have a shortage of automatic trucks.

Roadmaster also have a shortage of staff.  Week two one of the instructors walked off the job after the 10 o'clock break and never to return. The next week another instructor resigns. Now we have approximately 25-30 students on the field daily to three instructors and three truck making it impossible to get the proper training.  On a typical day, 10 hours, one may get the opportunity to practice a skill, parking manuever, necessary to pass the CDL exam only once or twice. Day after day its the same thing.

The program is run so badly that during this period cooperate personnel {Werner} visited the school on several occasions threatening to terminate the director of the school and the program director if they didnt turn things around in 90 days. As students we often heard and got blamed for the all the confusion.  Staff didnt hesitate to discuss the happenings with the student daily which often took away time from us learning.  We were told that due to the hours we had thus far accumalted that once all hours are exhausted we will be exited from the program, pass or fail. Still owing all moneies due.

Housing also was an issue. We were housed in a Super 8 hotel whereas some of the rooms were infested with bed bugs, staff was unprofessional and out right rude on many occasion. After two weeks my mate and I decided to commute.  Staying in the hotel was definately another stressor.

My class is still in attendance five weeks later with only two graduates thus far.  The two that has completed the program had prior truck driving experience before coming to the school which gave them a great advantage.  There are students in attendance still from four classes before mine and are forced to give on their goals due to improper training.  I recently switched to the weekend program which also struggles to complete the program.  Although there's more time to practice the instructors lack encouragement, patients and some unprofessional.

Before going to the weekend program I expressed my feelings to the director of the program after a grueling day of all negativity, 10 hrs on the field. I was told by an instructor that i was wasting my time and i should quit, that cooperate was there because of the students. his job was to only show me the skill once and i suppose to have it by now, that i was going to get put out, etc., etc., etc.,  He also called another student a dummy.  His frustraion was very apparent on this day. I reported the instructor and  Of course I was confronted by the instructor i had reported, he telling me verbetum what was in my report, via text messege. This same instructor has mad sexual advances toward me on several occasions.

In summary please do your research before attending this school. I didnt, we didnt and now we are 20,000 dollars in debt and still struggling to obtain our CDL.
