George Matter, who owns the Roanoke Terrace apartments, in Phoenix, AZ is a terrible landlord. The entire building is in disrepair. One of only two dryers in the crappy, dirty laundry area works. The other one has been broken for seven months.
Our swimming pool? The Roanoke Terrace Apartments swimming pool was closed down by the health department for about three weeks this summer.
The stairs are a hazard and someone could easily trip and fall while walking upstairs to my apartment.
The metal roof, which is our "covered parking"-- but looks more like a run-down flea market-- bangs all night long, because the metal is loose and George Matter refuses to fix it. It makes sleeping very difficult.
One of my neighbors did not have air conditioning all summer, and he had to live with fecal matter in his bathtub due to the terrible plumbing. When he demanded that George Matter, of Roanoke Terrace Apartments (Phoenix, AZ), fix his problem-- he was given an eviction letter.
Well that neighbor, Michael George, fought George Matter in court and his eviction was tossed out. Do you know how many people actually fight the slumlord and win?
The reason he won is because of the videos that he submitted to the court. All of this is public record. There is no hearsay.
Because my neighbor did this, I am now inspired to fight George Matter and his lovely Roanoke Terrace slums.

Do not even think about renting from George or Aubrie Matter. These people are bad, bad news and they could care less about their tenants.

I have rented from Mr. Matter at Roanoke Terrace Apartments for 2 years. Michael George was evicted for non-payment of rent and posted this as retaliation. Mr. Matter is a great landlord and the information in this report is not true. This is a great apartment building, very quiet, nice tenants. It is under new management since this disgruntled tenant was evicted.
