Rod Colom Construction Rod Colom Breach of Contract; Deceptive Trade Practices; Non Payment of Subcontractors; Fraud Ripley, Mississippi

Rod Colom Construction breached a $198,500 + add-ons with my firm and has not paid us for services rendered. In furtherance of Rod Colom scheme he refused to pay my firm, then went behind our backs and negotiated with our employees to leave and work directly for him. These are the same employees that would not have been paid if we had not paid despite the fact that we weren't. He is now performing the same work that he contracted with my firm to perform, with my "former" employees while refusing to pay my firm for the work we have completed.

What type of businessman would feel that he could blatantly breach a contract; fail to pay for services received; and go an steal your employees and continue the job with your "former" employees? I will tell you what kind would do it; the same one who submitted fraudulent certified payrolls to the Prime Contractor and caused those false certified payroll reports to be submitted to the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Mr. Rod Colom purported to the prime contractor and the state of Mississippi that he was self performing the job when in actuality he had subcontracted the work out to my firm. In furtherance of this portion of his scheme he never turned in a subcontracting agreement between my firm and Rod Colom Construction so that everyone would think that he was self performing the work. My firm is not a DBE, did Mr. Colom also falsely cause DBE credit to be granted for work that was not performed by a DBE? Mr. Colom is a fraud and a cheat and the reason that he feel that he can engage in this behavior is because he has done it successfully in the past. Rod Colom needs to no that those days are over for him.
