I attended a Roma Computer Solutions seminar at a local hotel in October 2000. They were selling complete internet e-commerce system. I had a choice of a desktop or wireless laptop computer (Turned out extra fees) when signing up for their program. The package consisted of: access to a merchant charge card account (extra fee), web site hosting (extra fee), "web site design" CDs that could be sold for $299.00, some software and a book of information. The deal was set up as a business lease for 39 months. The first payment was all that was needed to get started.

The "web site design" CD was what interested me. They said the CDs had a price of $299.00 printed on them, and suggested that they be sold at that price. Part of the deal was that the seller of the CD (me in this case) would get $5.00 per month from each CD that resulted in the buyer getting a web site hosted. The money was to continue, each month as long as the site was hosted. You can see the $$$$ could add up with this deal. That was what attracted me to deal, and I signed on the line.

Well, that part of the deal never happened. Roma switched to a different host and the $5.00 per month kick-back was not offered. Roma said they switched to improve service. My hope for monthly income from this part of the package was gone. To make things worse, Roma is now CHARGING everyone $5.00 per month, to be used in advertising their internet mall site.

My lease was quickly sold to another company called Leasecomm and I have to make my monthly payments for something that doesn't generate any income for me. Several letters and phone calls to Rome executives have not gotten me anywhere. They claim they are within the scope of the contract when they dropped the portion of the program I was counting on using. I say it was NOT an improvement!

I would like to hear from other people that are unhappy with Roma. I would like to get this in court as a class-action matter.

Roma was sharing the expenses in Indianapolis by means of a "joint" seminar with National Grant Seminars. As far as I know, NGS is okay.

Thanks,
Armando
