A major reason to file this complaint is to advice foreign residents of Romania about the dubious practices of Romtelecom. The information is valid, however, for any potential, current or past customer. If you are a current or past current customer, Romtelecom may be using your data to falsify documents including forgery. In my case, I refused to sign a new 2-year contract with Romtelecom. The sales official must have signed the document after leaving my home. I asked Romtelecom for a copy of this signed contract and they refused to provide one stating that if they say one exists, it does. They do this in order to trap you into a contract or at least collect a 60 Euro disconnection fee plus any months of service that you might not be using until you become aware that you are still a customer. They will then go after substantial late fees. There will be NO customer service from Romtelecom. My insider there says that this is systematic corruption and part of the strategy of the new ownership. Other customers have also noted that Romtelecom may add additional ''0's'' to prices after legitimate signing of contracts. Do not trust Romtelecom, despite there size. They are under new management which is locally-based and extremely corrupt. If you were a past customer attempt to contact Romtelecom to see if in fact you still have a ''valid'' contract. Keep all receipts of payment because they may (and have) come back to you and state that you didn't pay through a collection agency they are partnered with that will at least triple the amount. If you have been a victim of the alleged Romtelecom scam, please post here for potential class-action.
