We bought a large brown leather sectional from Rooms To go we purchased the warrenty plN for it.... What a joke.  We have had the couch 3 years and it has absolutely come apart.  At first we thought maybe our cat had touched it, we called rooms to go and they sent someone who said even though we have the warrenty they are not responsible for damage to the leather.  Ok understood, we called a leather specialist to come look at the small area we thought our cat had damaged, when they came out, they laughed and said this is not true leather couch! This is a proxy material called something like leatherette and sold to you as leather however that is against the law and they are supposed to tell you it is not leather...... Well they fixed the small area and said they don't think it was animal damage.  Well 6 months later the couch had completely come apart, the cushions all look light tan color, the 'leather' has peeled off every section completely!  Only the bottom, back and sides can you possibly see its a brown leather couch. [continued below]....

.....  We have to put throws over it. I have. 1 year old baby, I keep finding her with pieces of 'leather' in her mouth where it shreds off constantly and she picks it up.  I am thinking to call the local news as this is a hazard and I know what rooms to go will say they are not responsible for failing leather after 12 months even though we bought the warrenty.... But it is not real leather, it is bonded rubbish.... This is a disgrace.

i am willing to supply photos if needed.  Nearly $3000 spent ona couch that needs to be replaced in less then 3 years.....

disgraceful rooms to go.... Their customer service don't care.....

we we made the mistake of paying cash!  I saved a long time and paid cash.... If I had paid over time I would have stopped paying them for this nonsense that's for sure!

We apologize for the disappointment you are experiencing with your leather sectional. While we do carry a 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects, we do expect the furniture to last more than the 1st year. If you could email us at "Attention Ripoff Report" along with your order details, I would be more than happy to investigate this further for you. Again we apologize for the disappointment and look forward to hearing from you.

I believe it maybe, but we weren't told.....

AUTHOR: ToriOary - ()

For sure it's bonded, but, when I purchased it I wasn't told. I was sold the warrenty that I was told would cover it from top to bottom for all circumstances.... Well seems I was blantently lied to in the storea s it's not covered according to the one technician that came out when the first tiny patch happened....

we can't get covers to fit it, so we end up putting throws on and tucking them but they constantly fall off. if I had paid around $1000 it would be one thing, but we paid in excess of $3000 for this couch so it wasn't like we had a bargin.......

its very fustrTing.  We never thought we would need a new couch in 3 years  - in fact a this has been happening for over 2 years i have photos from when my baby was born and you can see the peeling so just before a having the coach a year this started happening.

this is not a good product by any means and we should have been told it was just a glued together product as we would never habe purchased it.  I could have had 6 x $500 coaches from a cheaper furniture option for the same price.  Very dissappointed with rooms to go!

The material covering your sectional is "bonded leather"...

AUTHOR: Ken - ()

This is made by layering a thin layer of leather over a cloth backing.  It WILL, sooner or later, peel.  My computer chair is made of bonded leather and cost about 1/2 what a full leather chair would cost.  It is also peeling, but to a lesser extent than your sectional.  Perhaps a good cover would help out?  Good luck.
