I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership, and I traveled all the way from Michigan to get it. The dealer told me that they would handle everything concerning the title/registration and plate process and that I would receive my Michigan License plate before the temporary plate they gave me would expire.

Nearly a week after my purchase they emailed me saying they needed some additional signed paperwork from me to register my vehicle and begin the process to get my new license plate and title to me. This was paperwork that they forgot to have me sign while there and should have completed and filed immediately. After getting the paperwork from me they then sat on it for another week before submitting it to a 3rd party company they use to submit it to my DMV.

Now I have an EXPIRED PLATE AND MY VEHICLE IS ILLEGAL TO DRIVE! I still may not see my license plate for another 2-3 weeks due to their error and procrastination, and they are offering me no assistance in solving the problem. I can not be without a vehicle for the next 2-3 weeks for obvious reasons, and have asked them to provide me with a rental car so that I have a legal car to drive while the plate is being processed.

Even though they have admitted that this was completely their fault and error, they are doing nothing to assist me in fixing the issue. I basically have the option of driving an illegal vehicle/plate for the next 2-3 weeks or absorbing all the costs of a rental car on my own, which is completely unacceptable.

I understand that mistakes happen and all I asked is that they provide me with a rental car or reimburse me for a rental car while I wait for the plates that they failed to submit in a timely and promised fashion. THIS DEALER LIED REGARDING THE TIME IN WHICH THEY WOULD FILE FOR MY PLATES AS WELL DOING NOTHING TO FIX THE ISSUE THAT I NOW HAVE A VEHICLE I AM PAYING FOR AND CAN'T LEGALLY DRIVE!!

Issue being resolved

AUTHOR: BillH - ()

POSTED: Saturday, June 22, 2013

this business has attempted to "meet me halfway" in resolving the issue. They are giving me partial funds to go towards at rental car and are telling me that they are getting the plates into my hands as soon as possible. Although this does not completely fix the issue, they are trying to provide some help.
