we just returned from cancun and while staying at the oasis cancun we were aproached by a royal holiday rep. to attend a one hour seminar. we had a so called complimentry breakfast with them and returned to there office. well they told everything we wanted to hear , gave us a free upgrade to the grand oasis and we were sold. two days later, after carefully reading the contract we wanted out . unfortunetly were not lawyers but we marched right back down to there office and told them after further review we wanted to cancel. we didnt mind at all to pay for our upgrade our new room was much nicer. well we had to write a short letter about why we didnt want there vacation plan and signed it. so,after paying for our upgrade we were told its a done deal and we were out. as i said were not atterneys so out we go with no real proof of our cancilation but they kept all of the travel books and certificates they gave us so we thought were good. well two days after returning home the phone rings and its royal holiday welcoming us to the club. we said wait a minute we canceled with elise and luisa at the cancun office we wrote them a letter and they kept our book and certificates. well she said she would call them and straighten this out. the next day we get a letter to finance the balance of our package in the states to save on intrest rates but of course this is a limited time offer. the letter came with a e-mail address ndargence@royal holiday.com and when i searched that the ripoff report came up and my heart sank. that was yesterday so all we could think to do was put a stop on all transactions on our card. thank god they dont have our bank info. how can they get away with this . any help info would be appreciated to my e-mail address and stay away from royal holiday.

I also had a horrible experience with them. I've purchased my timeshare 3 years ago, and it's been impossible to get out. I was pressured to sign a contract, and i was also scammed, they never did what they promised. We must do whatever it's in our hands to put finish to those thieves!!! I was looking for some information about this resort and all their scam tactics, and i've found these articles that have a lot of info about them, take a look:

I feel for you. One thing they are not telling you is that you have three days to get out of any contract you sign. It seems to me that you canceled within that time frame. If she said that she would check it out, it's possible that the finance package was sent out before the phone call. Send a letter certified mail asking for a copy of the contract and be polite, it is always easier to be helped and to get what you want that way. Or email them, but if you do that, make sure you save the document on a hard drive with date and time on it. Save everything and if possible, record all conversations. They may slip up in one of them and admit that you are canceled. When you get your contract and cancellation papers, read them carefully. You don't need a lawyer for this. Look for where it says you have three days to cancel. All contracts are supposed to say this, or if it doesn't, search their website under terms and conditions and read every word. Somewhere it should say you have three days. Then confront them with this info and prove that you canceled with the paperwork. If all else fails, hire a lawyer to send them a letter. It will be the best hundred fifty dollars ever spent. This should open their eyes. Also, insist on speaking with management. Good luck, and make sure to update!
