okay, so i was on my lunch break at work today when i got a phone call from an out of state number that i didnt recognize. i answer my cell phone and apparently my fiance and i have "won" a "FREE" 3 day 2 night stay in the Bahamas, Mexico, or the Dominican Republc. i was told that everything (including but not limited to: hotel rooms/reservations, food, alcohol, transportation) was included and that the only thing we had to pay for is air fare. at first i was shocked.

i couldnt understand how i won a contest i never entered. i was then told that i, along with my fiance would have to go to a presentation at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell on Sat. or Sun. at 11am, 1:30pm, 4pm or 6:30pm and sit through a presentation that had to do with cooking and then i would have to talk to someone and give them my Prize number so the would be able to varify that we were the right couple.

i explained to Tonya that my fiance is in the Army and he is out of the state so she proceeded to tell me that i would have to attend with my mother then. she told me that we would be staying at Windom Hotel, a 4 star hotel for the duration of our stay and that since my wedding is up in the air, i would have nothing to worry about becasue the offer never expires. before i got off the phone with her, i asked her how i was entered into this contest and she couldnt even give me a definite answer. she told me that i would have to have come across them at a bridal shop or through a website.

there was nothing i could think of. so i told my mom about it and she told me to online search the name of the company to see if i came up with anything. THANK GOD I DID!!!!! i have read about 20 of these reports telling how this is all one scam. alot of these posts say that the dress was bought from Davids Brial, which is where i purchased my dress from. i dont appreciate the fact that my information was givin to this "company" without my permission. in fact, i am going to call Davids Bridal tomorrow morning and tell them that. then i am going to call the number Tonya gave me and tell them how i know this whole thing is a scam. thanks to this site and the other 1000+ that i got when i googled the company, i wont be scamed. this is sad. i am 19 yrs old and i cant afford to be scammed or to have my credit messed up. someone is def going to hear about this!!!

David's Bridal - sells your address to scammers....

AUTHOR: Alma - (U.S.A.)

Pleases, be aware, that David's Bridal sold your info to a dozen OTHER scammers.

Anybody call you with some "too good to be true" offer, ask them to send the info in writing, or ask for a phone number to call them back. Do not believe in the "this offer is only for today."
Turn on your computer, and search those offers...

(One notorius "bridal" scammer is Ramada Resort - offering you "free" Florida vacation.)

RUN if anybody mentions anything FREE....

My daughter visited once David's Bridal, and made the mistake to give her name/address. (But ordered her dress in another place.) Neverhteless she has bombed by scam offers since.

If you visit any bridal show, do not give out your phone number.
