EDitor’s UPDATE: Positive rating and recognition has been given to RR Autograph Auction for its commitment to excellence in customer service.

Ripoff Report’s discussions with RR Autograph Auction have uncovered a 30 year company philosophy of total client satisfaction. This means that clients can expect that RR Autograph Auction will work diligently towards finding a mutually satisfactory resolution to any complaints or concerns. RR Autograph Auction listens carefully to client concerns and sees them as an opportunity to learn from past mistakes and become more efficient as a company in offering some of the world’s rarest and interesting autographs, manuscripts, memorabilia and artifacts.

RR Autograph Auction’s owner, Mr. Bob Eaton, has informed us that satisfying customers and giving them what they paid for is their #1 priority. As a successful businessman, Mr. Eaton agrees with Ripoff Report, that it is critical to listen to his clients and respond properly and that any communication with a client is an opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service. Because an auction is really just establishing a marketplace for a buyer and seller to conduct business. Mr. Eaton understands that communication and problem solving is the only way for a successful enterprise like RR Autograph Auction to thrive, both now and for many years to come.

Another top executive of the company told us that Mr. Eaton's personal business philosophy is based on relationships, relationships that have been developed since 1980 with both buyers and sellers of authentic material. RR Autograph Auction's mission statement says it all: "Deliver Remarkable Results to our clients. Be Rare, Reputable, and Reliable." Some of the other things Ripoff Report learned in the course of its investigation: typical customer feedback reads: “RR Auction quickly replied to my questions and fully answered them. They take customer service very seriously. We are very pleased with the responsiveness that he and his employees show us. They are serious about meeting commitments, and deliver on all their promises." Another satisfied customer said, "Thanks again, you always provide the very best customer service so I can make the most informed and responsible bidding decisions!"

The information provided in this report is based on comments made by Robert Livingston and Bobby Eaton in an interview held by a third party verification company with no biases toward RR Autograph Auction.

RR Auction in Amherst, New Hampshire is an auction house that deals with specialized merchandise such as high-end documents (like autographs from historical or celebrated figures) and memorabilia. According to their representative, RRA handles 22 auctions per year, and last year they handled over 20,000 items. They maintain authenticators on staff in addition to using third-party authenticators to verify each item before it is auctioned. RRA is a thirty year-old business that the representative says has been built on a tradition of reputable, reliable, and authentic items.

The representative believes that their company is set apart from competitors by their leadership in the niche auction houses through excellent customer service and reliable, authentic auctions. They offer a lifetime guarantee of authenticity on each item, and because they handle “almost all aspects” of the process in-house, they can cater auctions to the markets which combine sellers and buyers who have the same interests.

RRA receives leads for both sellers and buyers. The majority of the leads RRA receives come from sellers who have an existing relationship with the auction house, and the remainder from RRA’s reputation and word of mouth. RRA maintains a database of buyers and collectors and they estimate that their database encompasses 80% of the existing collectors, and the other 20% of buyers are achieved through direct marketing and sales leads. The RRA representative states that they are strictly an auction house, and have no direct sales venues.

RRA attributes their success to their hard work over the last 30 years; the sellers have become accustomed to receiving top price for their memorabilia, and the owner is very proud that checks are always sent out on time. The buyers know RRA utilizes third-parties to assist in verifying the authenticity of items, and “they have come to expect quality collectibles vetted for authenticity, complete with a certificate of authenticity and a lifetime authenticity guarantee.”

All auction items must pass rigorous tests to verify authenticity, and items that are not verified beyond doubt will be rejected by RRA. Additionally, both bidders and sellers are verified before they are able to participate in auctions, because they only want serious buyers and sellers.

In regard to customer follow-up, RRA employs one full-time person who is strictly dedicated to customer service. The RRA representative states that the “executive level” is always available to the customer, which seems to denote that the owners themselves will speak with the customers, and says that they strive for consistent communication through the entire process. Weekly customer service meetings are held to discuss all the aspects of the operation. During the actual auction, the seller is “kept apprised” of the status of their item. When the item is purchased, RRA says they keep in constant communication with the buyer from the time the package is shipped until it is received by the purchaser.

ALL COMPANIES GET COMPLAINTS, BUT HOW THE COMPANY HANDLES THOSE COMPLAINTS, SEPARATES GOOD BUSINESSES FROM THE REST.

Occasionally, RRA receives complaints about variations between the item and the item’s original description, because often the item itself is described but not the frame or case that encloses it. Sometimes, buyers will doubt the authenticity of an item and wish to be refunded. For instance, RRA just resolved an issue with an item that was signed by all the inductees of the Baseball Hall of Fame, and had been verified by a third party. However, the buyer employed a second third-party verifier who refused to confirm or deny the authenticity, so the buyer wanted their money back. RR auction refunded the buyer the full purchase price of $20,000 at their own expense, without involving the original seller.

RRA’s standard practice is to “listen empathetically” to their customer’s concerns, and work with the customer to ensure they are satisfied. Their customer service motto is always, “Yes! Now what is the question?” They feel that some processes they need to change involve utilizing an expanded network of third-party sources for authenticity, and they want to see an improvement in their ability to answer bidder questions within 24 hours. They feel that, currently, they can only answer 80% within 24 hours and the other 20% within 48 hours. RRA feels that their entire executive branch knows their internal controls must be continually monitored.

LIFETIME GUARANTEE OF AUTHENTICITY

RRA acknowledges that some individuals have complained about feeling deceived about the authenticity of their purchases. RRA responded by making it clear that their guarantee for authenticity is for the lifetime of the item. Purchasers who are concerned need to contact RRA and supply them the proof of purchase (such as a receipt, bidder number, or cancelled check). Item returns are accepted on an item that is deemed to be inauthentic; the purchaser simply needs to contact the auction house. At this time, no customer has contacted RRA with proof that their item was inauthentic. While they want to work for a resolution, they point out that the complaining party has to share in that desire, as well.

RRA is very proud of their reputation, their employee’s skills, and the abilities that have lead them to be industry leaders. They believe, in their business, that reputation is everything, and they assist their customers during the process and even years later.

In response to their involvement with Ripoff Report’s Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation and Customer Satisfaction Program, they understand that Ripoff report is “there for the consumer”, and they believe in excellent customer service. They hope that by working with the Ripoff Report staff, they can understand the source of complaints against them.

RRA wants to determine if the sources of the complaints are authentic, and if not, how they can prevent the false complaints from being so detrimental to their reputation. If the reports are valid, they would like to use Ripoff Report as a third-party mediator to bring a resolution to the complaints.

RR Auction / Statements from the owner Bob Eaton.

I want to always try to convey an attitude of "yes" when advising RR Auction's customer service representatives. When a client asks us for something, we always want to answer "yes" and together figure out a way to make things work for everyone. We are very proud to represent the historic materials we offer at auction and we want to make sure we are proper stewards and that our clients are as well. Most importantly, this business has been successfully built because we have a passion for authenticity. You can be assured that what you are buying from RR Auction is the real deal."

RR Auction’s team of authenticators have expressed that they feel very comfortable working with the auction house because of their commitment to holding ethical auctions. One authenticator at RR Auction stated "I have seen Mr. Eaton choose not offer items that he could not back with his 100% money back guarantee. Even though the item was worth $100,000 and I told him I was 99% sure it was authentic, yet he chose not to accept it because of the 1% chance. RR Auction is very conservative in what they will accept, unlike other auction houses ”

RR Auction takes employee satisfaction seriously as well. Employee feedback and surveys reveal comments such as this: "RR Auction provides a very positive environment and they empower me to make decisions every day. Each day brings me new opportunities for suggestions and improvements are encouraged. Bob Eaton and the other executives are truly concerned about our contribution to RR Auction and are providing growth opportunities for us. Bob takes the time to listen and communicate with employees and customers." Ripoff Report was pleased to learn that RR Auction’s past and current approach to business is focused on its pledge to total commitment towards client and employee satisfaction.

STATED IMPROVEMENTS FROM RR AUCTION.

RR Auction understands that with rapid growth, organizational systems sometimes get stretched too thin and that customer service is usually the first department to be effected. Recently, we have hired another full customer service executive as well as removed systemic bottlenecks to improve communication between our clients and ourselves.

RR Auction recognizes that complaints posted on Ripoff Report (whether true or not) are issues that need to be addressed, not ignored. If handled correctly, complaints can be valuable learning opportunities. With the feedback generated by Ripoff Report’s investigation, RR Auction has made organizational changes allowing its clients and employees a more streamlined approach to problem resolution and a commitment to a great client experience.

In summary, after our investigation, which included discussions with Mr. Eaton and many of his past and current associates, Ripoff Report is convinced that RR Auction is committed to quality delivery of services resulting in total client satisfaction.

R&R Autograph Auctions R&R ENTERPRISE RR AUTOGRAPH AUCTION FAKES , Internet

Has anyone else noticed that RR Auction has become virtually infamous for
auctioning fake Clash and Pretenders items in part due to Roger Epperson's
authentication (or rather lack thereof) of such?

There's one of each up for auction right now.

I've collected both bands since the early 80s and
have quite a few authentic items in my collection acquired personally so I'm not just slinging mud here.

I'm also fairly sure that an old swiss philography forum (Markus Brandes'?) was shut down due to me bringing-up this
very subject and essentially forcing them to admit that one Clash signed item
was in fact fake after receiving bids upwards of five hundred dollars. Then a
fake Pretenders item was posted, I called BS on it on these same forums, shortly
after that the forum admin announced that it would be shut down. Interesting coincidence.

Roder Epperson authenticates fake Clash and Pretenders items, that's really all there is to it I'm afraid.

I'm sure this will either be removed or vehemently shot down but nevertheless I feel sorry for
people who are bidding on and buying this garbage on RR.

This Report Speaks For Itself

AUTHOR: Andrew Collins - ()

POSTED: Sunday, March 31, 2013

This Report is the most lame bogus sounding report.  The OP is using several user names both on Rip Off Report and on ACML . The OP has no specific examples. Mr Epperson made a  feeble argument in defending himsel and the OP caved and did a 180.

Roger Epperson should not feed the vermin that tells lies about him. He should not even waste his time on such things. Do not sink to the level of pod scum.

Both this report, other reports on Rip Off Report including "EX-AUTHENTICATOR" , and any so-called anonomous postings on Autograph Magazine live use wording, and phrases that Mr Cyrkin likes to use.

Mr Cyrkin is the Maury Povich of Autograph Collecting.  The site attracts all sorts of piss ants and the entire site is a big dark evil circus of scandelous tripe and gossip.

The latest posting from Dee sounds so contrite that I half expect her to visit  Steve cyrkin on her knees with a follow-on on You Tube showing her kissing Cyrkins PSA-DNA 18K gold Ring as a spectacle for all to see and write about.

Every autograph dealer should go home and dip a pan into the toilet and a throw the dirty water at all their closest family members  and say " I am going to hell anyways and I may as well enjoy what I got "  You people want to hurt other people with your web of lies then start at home, hurt the people closest to you. Go home insult your families. I have no respect for a bunch of piss ants that gather around on a forum and spead filth and lies about other people. Worry about your selves.

The original post is so vague that the person that thought it up must have been half asleep. Post something really bad about R&R, blame R&R for 9-11, tell people they are devil worshippers , tell people that they practice medicine without a license. make your story good and juicy and put in some better lies. Put up a billboard with a picture of Bob Eaton and state that he practices cannabalism !   If you are going to lie then why not go all out.

Mr. Cyrkin should use his talents of cracking subscribers accounts and open a few charge accounts and use his money to build a shrine to satan all mighty. This is one evil man and people need to ignore him.

The filth and dirty lies on Autograph Magazine live are so evil and pathetic it makes my skin crawl. That site has no redeaming qualities and the only thing it is good for is teaching people how to lie and defame the charactor of other people, hurtful lies and filthy evil minds at work.

Bogus Report Filed With Stolen Words. IGNORE

AUTHOR: WDeeM - ()

POSTED: Saturday, March 30, 2013

Megan,

As I was wrong in starting this discussion on Autograph Mag Live and the way in which I did it, you are also wrong in your assumptions about how all this came to be.

I also think your impression of the AML is innaccurate from my limited experience as the community there seems very cohesive and intent on doing what's best for the hobby.  That's the only reason I posted there with my opinions is to get others' impressions and opinions in return.  I ended-up learning a thing or two and everyone but myself was polite and tactful despite my obnoxious behavior.

I never meant for this to somehow get posted here and I am not advertising for Steve's site with scandalous material.

I hold RR Auction in very high regard and all I have ever been concerned with is their integrity and the unquestionable authenticity of their offerings regardless of whether I might have been right or wrong in my opinions.  I have been wrong to an extent and it is my duty to not only admit it but to ensure that bogus reports like this are not taken seriously.

I only came here to rebut and unsubstantiate this bogus report made by someone who stole my words from a forum post and decided to impersonate me, as if I didn't cause enough trouble for myself as it is...

Again, this is a Bogus report with stolen words from a forum post and should be ignored as such.

Reports Like This Keep Mr Cyrkin in Business

AUTHOR: MeganMcArdle - ()

POSTED: Saturday, March 30, 2013

Steven Cyrkin runs a site called "AUTOGRAPH MAGAZINE LIVE" . This a a forum that Mr Cyrkin runs as owner as well as moderator. Reprts like this keeps "AUTOGRAPH MAGAZINE LIVE" alive.

I think it is very funny that this same exact report with a phoney name appears on Cyrkins forum, it starts an online dispute and everyone gets high blood pressure in the process then it is reposted on RIP OFF REPORT in order to get people to come on ocer to  "AUTOGRAPH MAGAZINE LIVE" to read some more crap.

"AUTOGRAPH MAGAZINE LIVE"  has no value. It is a b***h site and people make accusations against others and big fights start. When things calm down it is posts like this that become Mr. Cyrkins saving grace to keep the fighting and accusations flying.

I doubt this post has any validity at all. I think it was made up to keep Mr Cykin's site going.  "AUTOGRAPH MAGAZINE LIVE" is full of accusations, accusations, lies, lies, defamation, demamation and defication. "AUTOGRAPH MAGAZINE LIVE" is the most ugly shameful forum and anyone associated with it should be deeply ashamed.

This post seems to be an attempt to draw R&R autographs into the controversy but they did not buy into it.  Roger Epperson became the reaction that Mr Cyrkin needed although he was not fired up enough to make it boil over. "AUTOGRAPH MAGAZINE LIVE" has no value and it is just a forum of fighting and accusations that keep Mr Cyrkin entertained in a distorted way.

Someone needs to start an Autograph Forum with positive attributes and no negative BS . Everyone who is a member of "AUTOGRAPH MAGAZINE LIVE" needs to take a look into a mirror and ask yourself " Am I an Adult ?  If so, then act like one and get off "AUTOGRAPH MAGAZINE LIVE", become a volunteer at your local hospital. Go to Church, Go to temple, become a person, become something better. Do something positive, ANYTHING !!!!  ANYTHING!!!! Leave "AUTOGRAPH MAGAZINE LIVE" Alone , PLEASE !!!!

Qualification and Addition

AUTHOR: Dee - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 29, 2013

I also must add that these rebuttals are being posted on my own volition and out of courtesy and reparation to the people named in my false opinions and claims.  There was never any suggestion by RR or anyone else to post these and is done so as an admission of opinions and claims proven false to a large extent.  The event of years ago regarding the removal of an item for some reason due to the integrity of RR aside, the post is invalid.

I was contacted by RR regarding this "report" asking if I had posted it as I had e-mailed them about the items discussed on the other autograph forum.  This is how I came to know of this "report".

Ignore not only my original post from the other site but also these words somehow used as a false "report" on this site.

False Report Linked From Other Internet Forum

AUTHOR: WDM - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 29, 2013

Firstly, I am the author of the original words on another internet site.  This report was never made by myself and was never meant to be found anywhere else but privately on another forum.  It was never meant to be a Report nor did I ever submit this as a report.

As the original author on another site, this retraction and apology should be understood as the real report as the reputation of parties named should not be questioned and I am wrong for compromising them on another site.

It is my duty to apologize to Roger and RR for comments and false accusations made as this discussion was never meant to be read anywhere except for privately on another site.  Consider this a retraction and apology for false claims made.

I did not post this as a report on Ripoff Reports nor did I authorize anyone else to do it or know how it came to be posted here.  I don't know how it was linked to this site but nevertheless it is my duty to refute and retract all these statements 100% and attest to the sterling reputation of people named.

This was an ill-conceived discussion that was undertaken on an internet forum to get other people's opinions of a couple of items up for auction and provoke a discussion.  This was never meant to target, defame, implicate or otherwise compromise the people named in this post (now this report), namely Roger and RR Auction.  The original post was incorrect, disrespectful and insulting in it's content and all claims and opinions of mine have been proven incorrect.  Again, totally ill-concieved and presented without respect for these parties.

I have since retracted my opinions and false accusations on the other forum and have a duty to do the same here.  My comments and opinions were totally ill-conceived and presented and have since been proven largely incorrect and invalid due to the expertise of Roger.

This false report is not to be taken seriously as it was never meant to be a report or claim that anyone was consciously or intentionally doing anything wrong.  As I say, my original report was wrong-headed and potentially damaging to these parties and as on the other site, I am issuing an apology to all parties and retracting statement made 100%.  I am the one responsible for wrongdoing in this case.

The reputations and business practices of people named in this post should only be taken as sterling and my comments should not only be ignored but assumed to be incorrect, false and unduly inflammatory.

Again, this is a False Report that was never submitted by me, the original author on another site, and my retraction and apologies have been issued to all parties named.  The satements in this report have been proven false and an apology issued to all parties for my misdeeds and inflammatory words.

Please ignore this False Report as requested by me, the original author of these words.

False Report Never Reported By Original Author

AUTHOR: WDM - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 29, 2013

This is a false report and as I am the original author on another site I must do what I can in reparation.

Firstly, this was a post on an internet forum that was meant to start a discussion and was never reported by me on this site.  I am filing a rebuttal because I did not post/report this as the original author, have no idea how it came to be on here and it is my duty to refute, retract and repair my own opinions and claims for clarity.

This "report" was somehow posted by someone else or somehow linked to Ripoff Report out of context and with no regard for a somewhat confidential and "in house" discussion on the same internet forum.  I made false claims and accusations based on my opinions and they have been largely proven wrong.

I am the original author of the post on these other forums and did not post a report here nor did I intend this to end-up being posted as a report on this site.  I am currently trying to determine how this report came to be and how my words ended-up being posted here.

This issue has been discussed on the other forum and I have conceded much of my opinions and false accusations on these forums issuing an apology and retraction to people named in this report, namely Roger and RR Auction.

I must say that the integrity and reputation of people named in this false report should be assumed to be sterling without question and there was never an attempt to target, defame or illegitimize these people, only an ill-concieved attempt to spark a conversation about a few items and convey my opinions.

Again, this report is to be ignored, there was never a report made by myself (the original author) and the integrity and business practices of people named are not to be questioned in any way.

This is a false report and I had no choice but to register here after the fact and rebut these false claims and assumptions in reparation for my comments from another site.
