Capital One ripoff, rude, harrasement, hiden charges Islandia, New York

After having a heavy debt and some health problems, including a heart surgery, i started getting behind on some of my bills. Fortunately, after a successfull recovery from surgery, i went back to work and i began the tedious task of arrange payments with different debtors.

One of my debtors was/is Capital One, I made arragements with capital one for monthly payments of $150, but as sooner i start making these payments,i found myself receiving collection calls from Rubin & Rothman LLC requesting full payment. I was told that Capital One had put my account into collections, even after i made arrangement with them, and ultimately i would get sued by Rubin & Rothman. After an long conversation with Rubin & Rothman, it was agreed to make monthly payments of $200 until the full balance owed was satisfied ($844.25); naturally, i keep with my agreement and made all payments, untill my last and final check payment got lost in the mail. I immediately call Rubin & Rothman to find out the whereabouts of my check and that i will be sending a replacement. For my surprise, my last payment was not longer $240.00, now it was $336.25 and i questioned the amount, i was told about court fees, a 9% interest and some other bogus fees. I was told that all charges were disclosed at the beggining of the agreement, but when i check my files, i found nothing indicating a 9% interest and/or court fees, actually i made payment arrangements with them to avoid legal action, so why should i paid court fees. Afterwards, i request a documentation that they claimed was send it to me indicating this other charges, their answers was "the bottom line is that you owed this and you must pay or we will file a sue against you". im tried to obtain any documentation on this charges and i got no luck, then i asked to speak to a supervisor, but i got another employee who told me that the supervisor is too busy to get to you and repeatly insist in me paying for the additional fees. soon after i was told to "paids off of else" and they hang up.

I've heard complains about Rubin & Rothman in the past, but i thought were unfounded. Unfortunately, i've learned the hard way and my credit is the one who suffered. I placed a complain with the BBB, but i haven't heard from them. Once again, a rip-off and nobody to complain and as always the little people are the ones to bite the bullet. NO FAIR!
