Byers beware. Run-local-locksmith.net is a locksmith service corporation that advertises all over the United States, Canada and other countries or so I have been told. Their service providers who are subcontractors do not work for the company as paid employees, but work instead on commissions only.
As far as I know they split the money they collect 50/50 with the corporation. The number you call in the ads run by the corporation are all different and they use existing addresses in towns all over, but the addresses do not belong to the company themselves. In other words they want you to believe they are down the street from your location.
These local phone numbers are only remote forwarding numbers which take you to their call center. You never know where the so called locksmith they send you is coming from. Most likely they will not be licensed in your area, will carry no identification for you to verify who they are.
They have no writing on their vehicle showing their lic. number or phone number as required by law whenever they come to a residence to do work. They must also be registered as a business owner with the state they are working in and many municipalities require a home improvement lic. to do work in homes. If they work on your door, it is required.
The kicker is they quote low $15.00 service call fees, and a minimum labor rate. It is always hundreds, and I mean hundreds more when they complete the call. An average price for them to get you into your home or business if you are locked out is around six hundred to nine hundred dollars. They intimidate you and will offer to drive you to the ATM so you can give them cash.
You have no recourse, because their receipts are non descript on a generic invoice pad, and show no important information. If you call the company to complain, they say you must have called another company, not theirs. They charge so much because they spit it with the corporation. So beware.
Oh by the way, they are almost all from Israel here on some type of visa. They know nothing about locksmithing, only how to destroy locks. I have seen countless people get ripped off by this company. Spread the word about them. Do this, find a reputable locksmith, and put their number in your contacts in your cell phone. If you ever need one you will not have to search for one.
