I signed up for their free credit report. I'm trying to build and make better mine and my husbands' credit and RunMyCreditReport.com claims to give you a TransUnion credit report with a free 7-day trial of their website.

They take your credit card number and charge a .99 processing fee that they DON'T tell you about until AFTER you check your account and the fees are there. I then looked at canceling. My husband isn't able to call a customer service line during their customer service hours so we both find it much more convenient to do the canceling online through an email address or contact form.

The wonderful establishment that is RunMyCreditReport.com does not allow cancellations online. They ONLY allow cancellations via their customer service hotline. I called the customer service number only to be greeted with a poor recording. You could BARELY hear the woman talking and she was being drowned out by music playing. She had a thick accent and I had to listen to the message 3 or 4 times before I could finally understand which button to push to get where I needed to be to cancel. I had to listen to two different messages, quiet woman with a thick accent drowned out by obnoxious music.

I finally got to speak to a live human being. Again, thick accent and I could barely hear the woman. She asked me twice to "speak up" I was practically shouting into my handset. I asked to cancel both my account and my husband's account. The same card was used for both accounts. The woman then wasted my time and took some of my personal information and said she was able to cancel my account but not my husband's. It didn't matter that I had all of his information, or that my card was used on both accounts. It didn't matter that he CAN'T call during business hours. It didn't matter. My phone call was a total waste of time and effort. The "customer service rep" wasn't even pleasant.

I had to cancel my card after all was said and done. I won't be able to access my account until I receive my replacement card in approximately two to three weeks. All because of these people. If I had known that they don't allow cancellations online, I would never have signed up in the first place. It would have been nice to know about their .99 fee as well. .99 isn't a lot, but it would have been common courtesy to at least WARN me that I was going to be charged.
