In February of 2015 I contracted Rusted Jalopy (Owner Marlowe Buelvas) to build, from metal, a custom gas tank for my motorcycle as well as several other custom pieces and work to be done on the frame. At this time I also gave Rusted Jalopy the agreed upon deposit.

At the time of the agreement we came to terms on a timeframe to complete the work of two (2) months. I periodically checked on progress and was told all was good. At the end of two (2) months I stopped by to see when the bike and pieces could be picked up. At that time I was told by Marlowe that he was behind schedule and it would be another two (2) weeks.

After many texts back and forth (which I can produce if necessary) and over the course of the next four (4) months I heard  every excuse imaginable as to why he was not working on my project. This was followed by statements that he was almost done followed by questions as to how I wanted the tank finished all in an attempt for me to believe Marlowe was working on the project.

At the six (6) month mark I again went to the shop and found nothing done on the tank. At that time I took everything that was not needed to build the tank and left with the tale that he would have it done in one (1) week. At the end of that one (1) week I texted asking for my deposit back. Marlowe called and promised it would be done in two (2) weeks. I again followed up with calls and texts to check on progress and was told he was finishing it up followed by excuses why he couldn't work on it.

At the eight (8) month mark I texted Rusted Jalopy to check on status, Marlowe then called me and stated that he was not going to finish the project as he had not even started it. I stated I would stop by and pick up the parts of mine and my deposit the next day. When I went to pick up the parts and deposit (the next day)Marlowe charged me for services he did not complete and did not return all of the deposit money that he had been using while there was no intention of completing the project he had originally agreed to!

I have spoken with many people and companies since I started dealing with Marlowe at Rusted Jalopy and everyone has told me horror stories of dealing with him. Some have stated it took over a year to get their parts and he kept asking for more and more money during the project. Some, such as I, never got anything except a complete waste of time and money.
