I purchased a puppy from Ruth Newsome Nelson in February of 2014. I found out, now that the puppy is 8 months old, he has an undescended t******e, which is genetic, and you can't show them. She told me he was show quality. Before I found this out, I had put a deposit on another puppy, in August 2015. She accepted my deposit. I emailed her to let her know we were having our dog certified for his vision, and that our vet put him on heartworm prevention. She got very angry with me, and didn't answer my last email explaining heartworm prevention is important in Florida. She never told me she was refusing to sell me the puppy, and never returned my deposit. I was browsing puppyfinder.com, and saw my puppy for sale, in the beginning of October. She listed this puppy as ten days older than it actually is. She has not answered my emails.

I have saved all the email correspondence and you should not falsely claim threats. I said I would take it to court. That is not a threat. I told you the dog would be used for breeding purposes, and there was never mention of backyard garage breeding, except by you. I stated in one email that I would be converting my garage into a game room, as part of my house, but where you get backyard garage breeding I don't know, because it has nothing to do with dog breeding. You also had conversations with me about a rental property you own, and chickens. We didn't just talk about the dogs, and you should be honest and upfront about things, not twisting the facts. I also explicitly stated that I was not angry, I only wanted the situation rectified, i.e. my money back, or a comparable puppy to the one sold to someone else after I placed my deposit. You dragged it out for two months before finally returning my deposit, after I stated I would take legal action, but initially, you accused me of only caring about money. I do care, yes, because it was my money, and you contracted by accepting it, that you would sell me the dog, and then breeches the contract. I only asked that you made it right. Here, after all of that, you are attacking me personally. I consider the matter closed, but if you continue to attack me personally, with untrue statements, I will be forced to pursue legal action against defamation of character.

I do not sell my puppies to puppy mills

AUTHOR: Heathland Collies - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 24, 2017

This woman bought a male puppy from me supposedly as a family pet.  The next year she wanted a female and from back and forth emails I found out she intended to breed back to back in a garage in Palmetto Florida.  She planned to do this to about 8 years.   Once I found out her intentions I refused to sell her a female and sent back her deposit.  She then retaliated by saying the male she got  did not have its testicals down even though she got a health certificate.  She also claimed she did not get her deposit back which she did.  I raise my collies in a loving home and they are not going to be subject to abuse if I can prevent it.  This woman is extremely angry with me and has made several threats.

How is that relevant?

Buying from the shelter is still buying, however, that's not really relevant since 1) you are not involved in this in any way , and 2) it doesn't help solve my problem or anyone else who happens to buy, or try to buy a puppy from this woman. I would appreciate if people who just want attention would please refrain from posting comments here. That's not the purpose of this site, to shame a consumer for getting taken advantage of.
