Ryder Truck Rental canceled reservation hours before pick up time Portland Maine

reserved a truck for a 700 mile move, confirmed reeservation week in advance went to look at truck the day before picking it up, it was in the lot. Four hours before pick up time received a call saying they used the truck for something else and would not have another until Monday (it was a Friday pick up). I let them know that this was something that could not be changed, move out date, time off work etc, etc. Their response was sorry.

Filed a complaint on Ryder's web site wiith the same info as above and got no response seems to the the norm they do not live up to there promises and will not try to make the right or address their mistakes after. This is very sad at best a company that serves the public like thy do and depend on and they treat customers like this.

By the way the local Uhaul had a truck on site which I ended up renting and it was much better price.
