Attempted to purchase a Draper Projection Screen (Big Screen Center and Projector Lamp Center are the same company)

I posted this message on other forums and want to pass it on to you:

CAUTION: DO NOT BUY FROM THE BIG SCREEN CENTER. If I could say this any louder, I would. Even though they are still on line taking orders AND TAKING YOUR MONEY - they have filed for bankrupcy. We placed our order June 14th, and, after several phonecalls and unreturned voice mails, were promised a refund on July 20th. After contacting the Atlanta Better Business Bureau, and finally contacting a lawyer on Aug. 13th, I recieved this e-mail:

"Hello, I do regret to inform you that as of July 25th, our company has filed for a chapter 11 bankruptcy. You are in line for a refund, however until we get authorization from the court system we will be unable to give you that refund. You will be getting your money back and the federal government is going to be making sure of that, but as to the date you will be receiving that we do not know.

Once the court tells us when we can start refunding people we will be sending out e-mails to all of our customers that this pertains to giving them the date by which they will get their money. I have been informed that you are going to be pursuing legal actions against us and I need to ask you to refrain from doing so because we are actually working with the court systems right now to get everyone refunded.

I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you, if you would like to talk with the courts our federal case number is 07-71667 and we filed in the Atlanta court system. You can get with the court system in your area and they will be able to either get in touch with the Atlanta court system or they can give you the number so you can do so yourself. Thank you for your patience and have a great day."

This is the first contact they have made with me in over a month. And it seems my church is still out $800.

What a load of BS

AUTHOR: youknow - (United States of America)

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.  The FEDERAL GOVERNMENT shut them down because they were so shady. (This was insider info so I did not actually see these documents.) So their main supplier bought them out. It's funny though how the same people that used to run Sageryder/Projector Lamp Center are also running Lamps and Screens LLC (The company created to appear as the "new" company created to ‘own’ Projector Lamp Center, Big Screen Center and Mount Center).  Don't believe me? Do your research! Grant Hill and Brian Chambers are listed on Lamps and Screens LLC's twitter (@lampsandscreens) ALONG WITH the president of Stampede who was main Projector Lamp Center's MAIN supplier for the ‘old’ Sageryder/Projector Lamp Center.
These individuals are ALSO following Projector Lamp Center on twitter as well - @projectorlampce. (Oh, and guess who ELSE is following Projector Lamp Center on Twitter? Steve Gross (the ‘old’ owner of Projector Lamp Center), Ashley Gross
(Steve’s daughter and employee), Joe Burgess and Jason Prance who were both major players in the ‘old’ Projector Lamp Center.)So it appears the company is running better but that's because 2/3's of Sageryder/Projector Lamp Center's
employees were screwed by being laid off after being told for months the company was doing very well, Brian and Grant (along with a few others) were chosen to keep their jobs but ONLY if they signed a contract containing a non-disclosure
AND non-compete (This was insider info so I did not actually see these documents.) If you go to Ripoffreport's website, the person who is rebutting all of the negative postings about Sageryder/Projector Lamp Center (also including Big Screen Center and Mount Center) goes by the name of 'Mark' but is ACTUALLY Brian Chambers. Oh, and just a piece of advice Grant, don't post your cell phone number under ANYTHING related to Sageryder (http://www.cheaponsale.com/d-c114084224789043600-sageryder_brands/). That just shows how dumb you really are.  Oh, and you can find Steve (who stopped going by Steve and is now going by Stephen Gross) at his new “company” ReadyLauch located at 4060 Peachtree Rd NE, Suite D334, Atlanta GA 30319 and the phone number is 678-894-7300. I find it humorous that his new company is basically about running a successful internet based internet business..... yeah ok.  Side note, please look up Petaroo as well.

New owners

AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 07, 2009

My name is Mark, I am President of Lamps and Screens Online LLC. My company purchased the assets of Sage Ryder in a public auction in accordance with the bankruptcy laws in the State of Georgia. The assets included the websites www.projectorlampcenter.com, www.bigscreencenter.com and www.mountcenter.com. Sage Ryder went from Chapter 11 to Chapter 7 recently. I will not go into the details why, however the Governor of Georgia's office, the bankruptcy trustee for the state of Georgia and the BBB are now fully aware of circumstances.

Sage Ryder went bust owing my company in excess of $650k, we bought the assets in the hope of recouping some of those losses by turning the company around and making it profitable again. The NEW Company has new management, a solid line of credit and a new mission to offer world class service. We managed to save and re-employ some of the innocent employees that were uncomfortable with the old management practices and re launch the company last week at a new location.

I am very happy to talk or communicate with any old customers that feel they didn't receive satisfaction and direct them to the relevant authorities. My email address is mark@lasollc.com, please feel free to email me with a phone number and I will gladly speak with you.

As the new owners, we will try and point you in the right direction to get some of your money back, as a returning customer we also will be offering a promotion that will be hopefully soften the blow. I ask you to please refrain from posting new comments until you have contacted us.

It is our belief that the old owners of Sage Ryder have set up shop again as www.projectortlampexpress.com their address is 211 Center Parkway, Suite 900, Atlanta GA 30346.
