Boy was I a happy camper last Friday. I got a bill in the mail from DMV for $40 to renew my registration. I went to DMV today, monday, to let them know that there is no way I could owe them because Sam Dell had charged me $100 on August 14, 2002 for my registration. The nice lady informed me that they never paid for the registration, they just transferred my old one over. They were supposed to refund any monies not used for the registration to me, within 60 days.

It is the law that they are supposed to refund that money. Had they even attempted to pay for 2 years registration, this would probably never came to my attention, and could have kept the other $60 for thier pocket. I only knew because there was no possible way, after paying $100, my registration could be due in 1 year.

The lady wanted me to file a report with them right away, but I will give Sam Dell the opportunity to pay it back before I file with them at DMV. I am also sending a copy to the attorney generals office, since that is the only thing that Sam Dell understands.

Wish me luck with these theiving bastards.

Yes, I can say thieving bastards, because this is the third time they've screwed me. Two times to court, both times I won hands down, they knew they were guilty. Hopefully this is the last time I will have to deal with them, because I feel dirty just having to associate with them.

Never, never buy from any Sam Dell dealer.

They add the cost of your trade-in into the loan.

They try to make you purchase a warranty, by telling you it will only go through the loan with this attached.

They take excessive fees for DMV, and don't refund them.

They don't give you the full rebate that you are supposed to get. If it's a $3000 rebate, they tell you it's $2000 and pocket the difference.

They start with the base line sticker price and add everything on from there: (ex)

Sticker 18,455
rebate 3000
warranty 2000
trade in 2500
total 25,955
In an atricle run by the Syracuse Post Standard, they were found guilty by the Attorney Generals office and had to pay 16 people back a total of $13,000, plus pay $53,000 in civil penelaties and costs. Once the article ran in the paper, hundreds more people filed, and they were found guilty in those also.

I had to get an attorney and sue them for the cash from my warranty. I paid for it up front, and they tried to say that I owed it to them, but they couldn't tell me what I owed it for. The warranty is a seperate entity from the car deal, and as such, the money was mine when I cancelled. I won all of it back.

Needles to say, that dealing with this dealership will cause you headaches for a very long time. I can't wait for my sentence to be up, especially since I did nothing wrong except buy a new car.

3 weeks and no response, I'm going to file with DMV

AUTHOR: Cindy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 29, 2004

I should have, like DMV suggested in the first place, but I wanted to give Sam Dell the chance to redeem themselves on this one little thing. No go. So I have to go today and file a report about the funds.

I will not "just go away", and I will not forget how they screwed me and thousands of others.

Not only that, when I went back to the dealer my old vehicle had a higher sticker price. Was I suprised? Not especially.

They really are low life scum-bags, but that is just my personal opinion

"They add the cost of your trade-in into the loan."

They can and will do this only if there is true negative equity..Or for an example....You trade your car in and the sales person says trade in value of $5000..but.you owe $7500 on that car on your loan..The car dealership at that point will pay off the $5000 and call it even and then tack on the negative equity of 2500 to your new loan....

Is this what happened? Because if not they are a bunch of bigtime dirtbags...

Good luck!
