I usually buy from Discount Tire because of their great customer service and competitive pricing. I was in my local Sam's and saw a rebate on a set of 4 Goodyear's, so I bought them on impulse. It took 3 hours to get them installed instead of the estimated hour and a half, so things did not start off well. A year later I picked up a nail and called to see when I could bring it in. I was asked if I had a Prime Membership, which I explained I did, but had expired. He said to bring it in and he'd fix it. When I arrived the next morning, the person I spoke to was not there and I was told I had to have a Membership to get my tire fixed. What?? I explained I bought the tires with my Membership and expected the warranty to cover my tires. They finally agreed to fix it, which I do appreciate, but I'm certainly going back to Discount, where you don't have to pay $40 a year to have a warranty honored.

 1. I purchsed 4 new tires from Sam's with warranty 2. I picked up a nail and asked to have it fixed 3. I was told i needed to buy a new Membership to get my tire fixed, 4. They finally repaired the tire "as a favor'. 5.. A warranty should not depend on Mebership. IT IS A RIPOFF.

This is misleading

Your title states that they won't fix a flat, that is very misleading.

You can complain about an extra 1 1/2 wait to get your tires installed..but hardly a "RipOff".

Then when it comes to the flat, the person you called first said there was no problem and to come in. The next day you went in and a different person said no unless you pay for your membership. You complained and they eventually agreed. We don't know if it was a simple matter that took just asking the manager or took you 8 1/2 hours and the threat of 50 attornies bombarding the store.

The point anyone who just read the title would think that they DIDN'T fix the flat. The other misleading point was your inference that they charge you $40 for a warranty. That $40 is the MEMBERSHIP fee for the entire store..not just a tire warranty....and you were not charged it.

By the way even if it was $40 for just the warranty if the tires at Discount Tire were $80 more you are still saving $40.
