I bought 2 (two) SAMSUNG Model BD-1600 BLU RAY and "streaming" DVD players, and BOTH of them fail to perform correctly. The one I gave my girl ACTUALLY does complete the ONLINE "FIRMWARE" "UPDATES", but is really "picky" about which BLU RAY rentals it will play. My unit is also very SELECTIVE as to which BLU RAY rental IT CHOOSES to PLAY..often getting the message CANNOT PLAY DISC or CHECK DISK. VERY FRUSTRATING on my machine is that it used to UPDATE but my girl's has completed two FIRMWARE updates while mine says an UPDATE is available, but starts off going from 0% to 1. or 2. or 3%...then says I am not connected to the INTERNET EVEN THOUGH IT correctly STREAMS "Netflix"
IN ADDITION I purchased their 5 speaker with SUB WOOFER THEATRE SURROUND SYSTEM and it works except for ONE SPEAKER...
THEY even have the cowardice and pilfering of the consumer to CHARGE $41.00 for shipping ONE WAY "while UNDER WARRANTY"
