How can people get there San Diego Water bills reduced? The city of San Diego should base water rates on the square footage of a residence not a flat sewer and water hook up rate. My latest bill is $153.54. I used 35.00 dollars of water and the rest of the bill was hookup charges. I live in a 450 sq ft apartment. People I know have the same bill but they live in a single family two store house. This is insane. People in San Diego need to find a way to stop this overcharging. The Water Department doesn't care when you call to complain and they don't forward you to someone how can help or wants to help... nothing... they told me to go to their Water meeting to complain. I can't. I'm disabled and can't go downtown and sit around hoping my voice will be heard.

So you expect some form of special treatment or pricing because youre disabled and live in an apt? Guess what, I would agree IF they were over charging you. But EVERYONE has to pay the hook up fees. And yes the only way you can effect ANY change is to go to one of the meetings.
